Ok so maybe this is just me, but after listening to Doppelganger for the umpteenth time I have come to the conclusion that it is the worst of all their releases. While the songs are well put together, the screaming is much quieter than the music and even the music is quieter. If you listen to the re-recorded version of 'I Just Got This Symphony Goin', and then play the original version immediately afterwards, you will see that Doppelganger lacks the presence that is required to make a great album. I was however impressed with F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X
The guitar is this new version of an already great song seems to tie it all together. I do have a concern though, in the chorus of this song, the line "Come Running Home" is MUCH to quiet. All in all this album was a complete dissapointment to me.

their screaming isn't good, i don't like it. but this is a great album musically, and its very catchy vocally and musically. i enjoy listening to it.

I thought you hated the new FCPREMIX version?

But yeah I like the album a lot, it just doesn't compare to their self titled (or what I've heard from that) or the Ghostship EP.

The ending to Ghostship One is some of the best music I've ever heard.

I havn't listened to the new album yet, due to fears of dissapointment.

I am going to see these guys for the first time soon though, supporting the bled (who suck).

Yeah that show's coming to Holland too- with Fear Before.

I'd kill to see FBTMOF and The Fall Of Troy live.

I really like the album, though the screaming isnt that good, the guitar and bass work is amazing and thats enough for me

I was severely disappointed with the new version of Laces Out, Dan, so I stopped listening to it and popped in the Ghostship EP. Haven't listened to Doppelganger since.

i've never seen them. i was really looking forward to seeing them, bear vs shark, and fear before, but they cancelled the show just because a hurricane was supposed to hit a day or two after.

Well, DFelon stated it pretty well in one of the FoT reviews on Sputnik:

It depends what album you heard first, you'll probably like that one better (speaking of Doppelganger and Self-Titled).

I heard Doppelganger first, and like it better. It's on non-stop rotation since I got it. And just to state it again: The worst FoT put out is well above the musical average present today. Thinking about it that they are under 20 years of age makes it just insane. I hope they won't lose their raw edge in the future.

Just buy it. It's about 45 minutes if I remember correctly.

The new version of Laces Out, Dan is crap. They've slowed it down considerably compared to the pre-release, and it kills the song.

Was the old version on any other releases? I have self titled and Doppelganger.....and I think Laces Out Dan kicks plenty of ***.

Could somebody here send me Ghostship or tell me where to find it?

Laces Out, Dan wasn't on any release prior to Doppelganger, but the pre-release version they made public (along with Tom Waits) was faster and more... raw. I prefer the new Tom Waits though.

I don't really like the vocals on Doppleganger because the singer ends every verse LIKE THIS????? As if it's a question. Plus the FCP remix (see my above post for the explanation of this acronym) is a lot lamer than the original.

ohhhhhhhhhh i was like "wtf?" when i saw that, thought you were spamming hehe thanks.

i agree, the whole album is "AHHH???" and has a lot less drive to it, but whatever it's still FoT.
