Whats up guy I thought I would save the news thread for the second time, cheers for me, by once again bringing it back. Also I would like to remind you of the rules.
1. No spamming the News thread is for NEWS only.
2. Make sure your news is informative. We don't need to know that a member
of your favorite band took a dump recently.
3. Please do not post your commets or thoughts. This thread is ,once again, only for news.
I pretyy much think that does it for that if Spencer feels the need to add to these feel free.
And if you are curious or what ever and would like to know what was going on around this time last year click here (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=260956).

...MB '05 Tour: Day 134: AOL Sessions taping - Capitol Records tower, Studio A
Today the band gear was loaded into Studio A in the Hollywood landmark Capitol Records building, for one last gig before the break and the December Japan tour. The band ran thru five songs several times each, and were both recorded to multitrack and filmed. AOL Sessions was once a more common thing for bands to do but it has evolved into a fairly exclusive gig, sort of like getting on a TV show, though it doesnt play on TV. The 5 songs, plus an interview and a behind the scenes mini documentary will all appear on the AOL Sessions site, though we dont have an exact date when yet. I was told that they usually take a solid 2 weeks to edit, mix and process everything before it goes up on the site. So at this point we can hope to see it up in the second week of November.... ish?!

*****PERFECT SITUATION VIDEO PREMIERE*****
The new video for "Perfect Situation" will be having an "All Day Premiere" on MTV2 on Friday, November 11th. All Day Premieres mean that they will be playing the video a whole bunch of times that day, so chances are when you turn on Mtv2 on 11/11, you'll see it pretty soon.
..."Perfect Situation" single: The single is the 3rd from "Make Believe", and its out now. I've heard it several times on L.A.'s KROQ in the last few days, and I don't turn on the radio very often! Call your local station and request it - let's push this great song to the heights it deserves! It was the #1 requested song on Rock 102.1 in Milwaukee last week, thank you Milwaukee fans!

Bayside Drummer Killed In Highway Accident
Touring the U.S. on their Never Sleep Again Tour, Bayside were involved in a fatal accident. While driving outside of Cheyenne, Wyoming the van hit an icy patch of road and proceeded to flip over. The accident claimed the life of drummer John "Beatz" Holohan and seriously injured bass player Nick Ghanbarian.
They band were touring with labelmates Hawthorne Heights, Aiden and Burlington, Ontario's Silverstein.
Not all band members were harmed — Anthony Raneri and Jack O'Shea have been discharged and did not sustain major injuries. Crew members have been hospitalized, but are expected to recover.
The accident is obvious reason for cancellation of the show that was scheduled to take place in Salt Lake City on Monday and an announcement regarding the rest of the tour will follow shortly.
Donations can be made to John's family through John Holohan Bayside Memorial Fund. (http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd-_xclick&business=johnbeatzmemorial%40victoryrecords%2ecom&item_name=John%20Holohan%20Bayside%20%20Memorial%2 0Fu)
Bayside were on tour promoting their new self-titled album, which was released in August.

New pod!!!!
11-7-05 - hello party people. i'm back and i have terrific news. this new podcast, the one with my voice on it and some music on it, the one you may be about to listen to, well, it's not all that great. i know it. my engineer knows it. brendan and his wife know it. and you'll know it soon, too. and it's my fault. i take all the blame. just because the entire content is made up of me talking to the motion city soundtrack guys and the motion city soundtrack guys picked the music doesn't mean that anything should be put on motion city soundtrack. i mean, if i had to say that someone else was responsible, it would clearly be motion city soundtrack. but alas, i am the one steering this ship. and yet you can still count on some quality music and quality conversation. overall though, the podcast is a little undercooked. or overcooked. i don't want to tell you how you like your meat (or tofu for my vegetarian friends). the truth is, the motion city soundtrack guys did come through with some rad bands (this is me smiling, the maple state, limbeck). my wife, however, came through with a brand new black video ipod and an invite to a halloween party at carrie fisher's house. which is the main reason why on most nights i go to bed with my wife and not the guys from motion city soundtrack. anyway, here's what i'm suggesting: download the podcast, then download the new kevin federline jam (best song ever!), then eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. somewhere in there you'll find something above average to make up for the rest. remember, himynameismark might not always bring you great joy, but it'll always get you what you paid for....and special thanks to the motion city guys for letting me interview them, play their music and later that night ruin their show by inviting me on stage. oh yeah, and for those of you who've been picking up the black sidekicks, might i remind you that i paid $300 less for mine. man, that kind of made me sound like a bit of a jerk...a jerk who got a free sidekick

The Kinison Call It Quits
Dear friends, fans and people who followed the band.
I have decided to write this letter in a sober state in hopes that it will make more sense to everyone.
The Kinison formed at my parents house in their garage in Oblong, IL (population 1800). We started basically as a three piece while drinking beer, smoking pot, taking pills and wanting to re-create "OUR" vision of punk rock. I was 17-18 at the time, and we "The Kinison" were Bub Knight, Aaron Faller and I, Chris Lewis. We had members come and go, but we were the foundation. None of the other members ever mattered that much; they were basically hired guns so we could perform live. We wrote, partied and recorded. I would say mostly partied though. We lived literally in the middle of corn fields, but we did have ambition. We knew that music would get us out of there. Or at least we hoped it would.
We went to shows in St. Louis and Indianapolis when bands we knew about would come around and play. We took this opportunity to hand out our demos that we recorded in my parents garage. I handed a singer of a band from LA our ****ty demo and he liked it. That's how we made connections in California. We flew out here a few times and did new demos and had some major label interest. The thing is... we weren't even a real band. We tried to trick everyone into thinking we were. At the time it seemed alright. I think about it now sometimes and thank the higher being that we were not signed to Island/Def Jam when I was 18 years old. That would have ruined me.
I got a call one day from someone in Riverside, CA. He wanted to manage us and take us under his wing. He told me we would play the Whiskey, The Troubadour and so on and so forth. That seemed like a dream to me, like a fantasy world or something. Here I was, an 18 year old kid, with barely a high school education, moving to California to pursue music. He told us to live on his living room floor and only focus on music. That's what we did.
The three of us moved from IL to CA and played clubs in Riverside about every night of the week. We played some nasty dive bars. But it gave us sense of what we really wanted to do live. We became good fairly quick. The drummer that we brought with us from home wasnt cutting it so we needed a drummer, a new drummer, A REAL drummer. We met Mikey on a Sunday and that Friday he was playing his first show with us opening up for Poison the Well at Chain Reaction in Anaheim. We went through a slew of bass players who all ended up being best friends in the end but were not right for Kinison. We saw Mike V. play at some hardcore show and wanted him badly. We finally got him about 4 months later. There we were a complete band. No one would be or needed to be replaced. There we were, The Kinison.
Our last official California show was May 29th, 2005 at the Glasshouse in Pomona CA. This show was for a live record that was recorded and I believe is still being released. For this to be our last show and have it recorded was a very special night for each one of us. It was great to be able to capture us at one of our favorite venues and have a recording of what we had been doing live over the last year.
Jump to August 2005, The Kinison just finished up the second half of the 2005 Warped Tour and now had 23 US tours, 3 Canadian tours and 1 United Kingdom tour (including France, Germany and Ireland) under our belt. Now it was time to write a new record. I moved about an hour away from the rest of the band. I had to try to clear my head. Three straight years of touring and living with five or six other people in a van or hotel room took a toll on me and the rest of the guys and I needed time off. The four other members didn't waste any time and started writing without me. I was perfectly FINE with this. I would show up once every two weeks and they would just email me a song if they recorded one and I would sit at home with head phones and try to write to it. I wasn't feeling it. After a few more practices and after we canceled doing demos for the record I knew I was done. I wasn't happy any longer and hadn't been in a long time. I love music and this wasn't music to me. It wasn't the Kinison anymore, it got lost somewhere. I no longer was a part of the writing (which was my fault) and I felt like I had lost everything I had set out to do when I was a kid. I used to be so excited about practice and writing even talking about the band. Now it made me sick to my stomach to even think about the band. Once inspiration leaves, it leaves with a vengeance. My inspiration that drove me to be in The Kinison is gone. Music will always be apart of my life, whether its listening to it or simply appreciating it or performing again. Whatever it may be, I will let music take its course.
I officially left the band Oct. 6Th 2005. I wish all of them the best.
Thank you for your interest in the band. We appreciate it very much.
Christopher Lewis
JamisonParker Too.
over and done with....
the band is officially broken up. i apologize for not posting this sooner but in all honesty this is the first chance that i've had. as far as reasoning goes, i felt that it was time to move on. there will be new music, new bands, and more touring in the near future... just not together and not as jamisonparker. i want to thank everyone who bought the album, stole the album, wore the shirts, came to shows, sent us emails, spread the word, and just allowed the music to become a part of your life. i can't put into words how much i appreciate every day that you all helped this band stay alive. i can only hope to have that same support in the future.thanks again.... see you soon....
jamison
There have been too many breakups this year. :(

Today Koopa's first single release "No Trend" has made the uk charts at 58. Yesterday it was 87 but today the powers that be have included the weekend's download info (which wasn't available yesterday although normally it would of been). But then nothing goes 'normal' for this band.
As an unknown band with a small indie label and very little promo their CD distibution was rubbish so they had to push their downloads hard.
The songs are pop/punk but they tell a story and often have a punch line as well. The video is on Fizz

ITS OFFICIAL!!! Mark Said blink WILL be back!!!!!!!!!!!!11/17/2005 4:57:10 AM - by samstirpe
Anyone here the interview Mark gave a couple days ago at Travis's DC Shoes Rellease Party???? He Said "I talked to Tom the other day on the phone, and it looks like after Angels and Airwaves finishes its world tour, he wants to get back to blink and record some new tracks for a Unrelleased/Rare/Demo's Cd-- the cd will come with a DVD containing rare live performances, and studio footage circa 93-98"
Obviosuly I couldnt quote it "word for word" but thats 99% of what he said, he also said some things about plus-44 being really 80's style.
