hey guys i'm in a band and i have a question about recording...
recently i just bought this E-MU 1212M mastering-grade digital audio system

and i was wondering could anyone show me a instructions (step by step) on how to start recording with this baby? i have a shure sm57 recording mic and i just hooked it up into the EMU but the device didn't read it nor picked anything up. do i need to hook a mixer into this before hooking the mic into it?? thanks guys
