if i use a pedal(digitech RP200A) made for a guitar on a bass will it hurt any thing?
I don't think it will hurt anything, it wil probobly just not sound as it would if you were to use a pedal designed for a bass

As above, it will work but sound rubbish.
Thats mainly because a guitar pedal is designed to pickup higher frequency (not bass) notes - and modify those. Thus, a bass will generally sound weak and not very well... bassy.

Yeah, I can't say I love my RP200A much. The effects really are all the same, and you might as well just go with individual pedals rather than wasting $200 bucks and getting all the same presets.
Which leads me to a question. What are the best presets for: 1) Distortion 2) Overdrive 3) Heavy Distortion 4) Grunge?
Thanks.

Bass pedals are designed to handle a certain frequency range, which would apply to a bass's range. Guitar pedals aren't made to handle the lower frequencies the bass produces, but the guitar pedal may or may not please your tastes.
