X-mas is almost here, and it time for the present questions to start poring i the forums...and this time im gunna have to contribute to them:upset: ....

Well on my x-mas list i have the hartke 3500 head for $319 (lowest i could find it if anyone esle know of a place tell me plz!!!) any way but i need a cab to put it through... Since i dont want to burn my parents for alot cash i need a good amp for a real good price(and i really dont have $ to buy one soon). I Know of avatar but im looking to see if i can get a cheeper amp.

Im prefiribly not looking for 10inch amps(i have a 6er and they dont handle lows well) But 12's would be good. Any opinions?

-Thank you

Good cabs dont get alot cheaper then avatar that i know of. Any less and youd either not have alot of power or a bad quality amp. The Hartke pushes 350 watts right?

I would like to go bigger such as the 3500(350 watt) or 5500(50 watts)

And i just found the 5500 avalible for $400 with no shipping so if i dont find a cheap cab that might be the way to go...

Anyone w/cheap cabs...please...

Same here, it was a mistake for me to get my Behringer, way to heavy for the amount of sound it produces

I'm thinking of a 7 or 8-string set of strings so I can mess with the tuning of my basses.

Otherwise, money towards my Winters Custom.

Hmmm.....to the threadstarter, I have the 3500 and a Hartke 4x10 and the combination sounds awesome, and the lows are very clear and defined and powerful, so dont let yourself be turned off to the 10's. As far as Christmas goes, all I want is a Boss Rc-20 looping pedal.

You make it sound like money isn't an issue, but you're looking for cheap cabs...?
$184 is a good amount of money you can save...

But, anyways, really, you can NOT beat Avatar for the price unless you strike some serious rare gold at a pawn shop that doesn't know the true value of what that have or something. For just one cab, I would say go with a 112 or 212 - apparently Dave says himself that the 112 is the best standalone cab.

Anything cheaper than ~$250-$350 and you're pretty much wasting your money on crap, especially when compared to Avatars.

For my Christmas, I'll be buying an Attitude bass, so Yay! I doubt it will get as much use as the kubicki, but I want one anyway!

it's not gibberish...

listen closely...there is one vocal track playing forward, playing the speech (though it is high pitched) and one playing it backwards. It might sound like gibbersigh, but it's not.

I especially like the way they pronounce the Bass fish's name like a "Bass" guitar. leads to some funny jokes when you catch them.
