I prefer warwicks. You can make them your own a lot easier. You can adjust the nut, string spacing, string height, just about everything to make it your own. You can also get them in diffent scale's and neck widths. That being said, warwicks are incredible basses. I'm not saying anything bad about ibanez. I hate their budget stuff, but their higher end or "boutique" stuff is really awesome as well.

The funny thing is that my bass I use for metal is actually a SDGR Ibanez body with pickups made by Warwick that i found on ebay. I love that thing more then life itself.

i was trying out some ibanez and warwick basses at Sam Ash the other day.
I went through A corvette 5, 4, and $$, but i couldnt get a sound i wanted out of their pre-amps. I tried the Ibanez SR500 and 505, along with some other models, and really dug the Barts and pre-amp. Ill probably try it out again though, as i tried them out of dif amps (they were on opposite sides of the bass area)

But EP said it best, because its your opinion that buys a bass.
As for me, im undecided. I love Warwicks options, but my conclusion above boiled down to "at hand" models.

Warwick bass=warwick tone
Ibanez bass=any tone

And Ibanez's are comfier IMO.

But I'm an Ibanez whore, so I'm biased.

I like both brands, but I don't think an Ibanez has anything on a Warwick...

Tone versitility. Warwicks lack it, Ibanez w/ preamp flaunts it.

Well i own a Ibanez and badly want a Streamer LX...i'd say that Warwicks are a more serious bass than an Ibanez, although i havent tried any of the higher end Ibanez (Prestige series).

Warwick=secks.

Lumping every model that a company has to offer is so win.

So incredibly win.

i'm sold for the Warwick tone.. so i would go with Warwick.
Ibanez are comfy to play.. but my Ibanez doesn't sound that great.. no matter how much tone versitality.. but that's just my Ibanez.

But of course.. i love my Miller sig Jazz the most :D

Biased indeed. I haven't found a single tone my Warwick Thumb-bass can't emulate. Some of the higher-end Ibanez's have this seem quality, I'll admit that, but it's been my experience that there aren't any distinctive tones to take advantage of.

That's my 2 cents.

Hmmm... considering that Warwick does not manufacture pickups I think someone was having you on. The closest thing would be MEC pickups which are standard on Warwick basses.

I`d have to say Warwicks on that one, but the BTB-range from Ibanez seem pretty sweet.

Yes, I have a BTB and it is great, but I do prefer Warwick overall.

Ibanez is more failry priced though, that should be taken into consideration. I think on all but the cheapest Warwicks (the Corvette Standards) you pay through the nose for them. Hell, I guess even the Corvette stanards are a little pricey!

I'd rather save another year, if I had to, to buy a better bass than get something that's sub-par.

But it still comes down the issue that Warwick are asswipes when it comes to price. Whats up with the Thumb NT being £1100 more than the BO simply becuase of a wood chage/neck design change? it's not like it's custom quality!

And now, my dilemma...do I buy the Attitude or the patitucci bass? Tim, help me choose!

You know what I'd go for. You don't even need to ask. The Attitude bass is an amazing instrument, I recommend them to everyone.

I think I will still be shelling out for Seafoam green Attitude...

Keep in mind that the Warwick tone and the Ibanez tones are completly different, and some people dont like the Warwick tone, so they might view Warwicks as Sub par.

They where labled as Warwick MEC pickups , but I was under the impression that they were manufactured by Warwick, so i feel i little ripped off right now.

I'd go with a Warwick over an ibanez any day. great tone, great feel, and plus i cant stand ibanez basses.
