I have a feeling you might have been expecting something else. Short story, putting the flats on my ESP the A and G tuners were stripped out. So...I have a two string bass for the moment. But I compensated.

"Sure son, just be sure to pay me back without ever having a job, ever! Lawl!"

But, I digress. Sade, sorry to say, but here's your warning. I'm going to point out that our unbanning was conditional - if you goes back to the way you were, the ban comes back. If you carey on, that's that.

@Tryxx

Why do you need 5(?) basses. Don't you feel like you have the tendency to allways play the same one, just because you love it more? I understand the whole frettles/fretted thing. But what would you need the rest for except maybe one having sentimental value cause it's your first. Not trying to diss you or anything, just curious :thumb:

I play that funky music
11-06-2005, 05:59 PM
Awsome bass. I wouldnt mind having a fretless myself.

Tryxx
11-06-2005, 05:59 PM
Nope, not really. I have the 8 string, the acoustic, the now defretted 4, the 6 string, and this fretless. So I give them all their love.

I forgot to mention, I played a fretless Quantum 5, it was sex.

I've seen worse guys. Tryxx said he was going to pay back and you should take his word for it. I mean it's not liek his parents spoil him with bass gear and he sucks and/or just smashes them and asks for more. Im one for buying your own gear, but if his parents are THAT supportive then let it be.

I bought my own car, all of my music equipment, pay for my bass lessons, and my auto insurance. I just dropped a thousand into my insurance fund and paid 90 dollars a few days ago for my bass lessons. I know where you guys are coming from, but lay off a little bit. If his parents like to see him happy and support him, let them do so.

sometimes i work so much that i'm too tired to play bass. That's the sad thing :upset: . I fell asleep on my futon while playing earlier today(i had the morning shift at dunkin' donuts [6 a.m. till 12:30]). I wake up an hour and a half earlier than that so i don't fall asleep at the wheel when i'm heading to work. So i was up at 4:30 this morning. Basically i wake up at 5:30 on school days, and wake up at 4:30 on weekends. In theory, i actually get to sleep in on school days. :upset:

OK...I am not kidding, here: Anyone else who comments on Tryxx's mother's support of his music WILL get a 3 day ban, OK? She's a wonderful lady (met her at Berklee), so stop saying Tryxx is a spoiled brat and/or saying his mom is an idiot. The only reason I'm stepping in here is because if Tryxx takes mod action, he'll be labeled a horrible mod for doing it out of his own "personal interest." Let's stay on topic and refrain from insulting users, OK? That goes to BOTH sides of users, here, OK (those for and against his mother's purchase).

No comments on this post, either, OK? I'm serious. Read it and pretend you didn't read it after...unless its the part below this.

Let's be civil, OK guys? Thanks. :)

By the way, Tryxx, nice bass. I love Warwicks, and I love fretlesses, but I don't liek Corvette fretlesses...ack. Something about them just feels wrong. :upset:

It makes sense to me. If you go to normal college, your going to need a car. That would prob be my grad present. If i go to Berkley, your going to need music equipment, and the modulus/mike kelly are going to help you get through Berkley.

we have all of these coffee flavors now. French vanilla, hazelnut, cinnamon, toasted almond, coconut, marshmallow, chocolate, caramel, blueberry, and vanilla spice. When customers ask me what my favorite flavor is, i say "umm coffee flavored." When they give me attitude, and they order their extra light and sweet coffee i just say, "sorry, i thought coffee was supposed to be hot, and you know, taste like coffee." There are like 16 in milford that are owned by the same man. his name is peter. We aren't allowed to accept tips because of him. I prefer starbucks, but i hate both. I would much rather go to a local place like cafe atlantiqué(the only place that wasn't bought out by dunkin' donuts, because it's right down the street from one.)

you know why right? the donuts are made the day before by a bunch of dirty portugese dudes who don't wash their hands or wear gloves when they knead the dough. The stores are in milford but the donuts are made in shelton. Theyare shipped over with trucks and they are then frosted at the stroes. we only get one production during the day, so what we put out in the morning is basically what we have for the day. My store used to be the central bakery before it moved to shelton, and i've seen some pretty nasty ****. a rubber glove from the finisher(not baker) was dropped in the dough and not taken out. one time issac (he has a funny moustache) dropped a ten pound blob of dough on the ground, wiped it off, put it back on the conveyor belt, and proceeded to knead the dough with his bare hands. Don't eat that ****, it's raunchy. Oh yeah, the creamers. don't get me started. We have to log the temperatures every day, and i'm the only person who actually does them without filling them in. So i look at hte tank this morning and the cream was 49 degrees. It's supposed to be 44 or lower or it will eventually curdle and make you sick. just letting you guys know what goes on behind the counter.

They were more than glad to give it back to me because i'm the only person there who knows the difference between his asshole and a chocolate munchkin . And plus, i hate the food, so i wont eat it. If i worked at another food place, I'd eat the **** nonstop. What really pisses me off though, is if i have somewhere to go after work and i don't have time tyo go home and make some coffee, i have to pay for a cup. So i can work a six hour shift, punch out, and have to pay for my coffee. I'm basically a customer in a stupid *** uniform.

That's ironic that they go to dunkin donuts because they need caffiene. It is well known that our coffee is weak compared to other coffee places. I forget the percentage, but it's weak. What cracks me up is the reduced carb bagel. On the diet you're supposed to have 20 carbs a day no? A regular bagle has 62 carbs, and the reduced carb bagle has 48 carbs. Basically 2.5 times more carbs than you need on the diet. And people get sausage egg and cheese sandwiches on it thinking they're being smart.

God, I cant believe they charge you for a cup of coffee!! ITS ON TAP!! It costs them next to nothing!!

At Mcdonalds (wher I work) when I finish my shift I'll just ask a manager if I can get a drink to walk home with, then they'll go and get me a large fanta or whatever :) And I can just get a drink when I'm thirsty and not packed with customers/things to make, etc.

Then for my break we are entitled to one full meal, so thats a large drink, large fries, a burger or whatever (I get a Chicken Salad Deli Sandwich though) and a desert (super duper chocolate/crunchie flurry :p)

And thats why most people that work there are fat  (except me)

Still, fantastic. I've played one of those before, but owing to the fact I didn't have £800 on me, I had to forgo buying it.
I've been considering buying a relatively cheap bass and defretting it for fun, how do you actually go about defretting a bass?

It worked great, and plays very well on the two strings that are on it. Putting the flats on two of the tuners stripped out and basically don't work anymore. They don't tune above low B pretty much... So I'll just need to replace those sometime.

It actually seems I have to make this bass work for the growl a bit harder than expected. It's "mwah-riffic" though, and does come extremely close to the Jaco tone. Rounds would help a whole bunch though.

some people have more money than others, which means they feel they can afford certain things others can't, for example, i have a friend who plays a 68' jazz through a peavy 115 50W amp and changes strings basically whenever he wants to

and me on the other hand, I play a rockbass, 110 crate 50w, but I also pay for my own gym subscription
and i change my strings once in like.....6 months

have you ever seen his schecter collection? It will blow you away.

A bunch of inexpensive and very similar basses cannot compare to a Corvette fretless, a Modulus sixer, and an 8-string.

And yes, the fretboard is ebony ($150 upcharge to add lines, for those interested).
