Ok I bought my Spector Lengend 4 in mid August. Its got EMG-HZ in it and an active preamp. Sounds good, nice growl, and looks good. Yesterday my guitarist in my band who works in a local music store said they just got in a 2000 Warwick Streamer Standard 5 string. Its a totally passive bass but sounds sweet. Now i came to problem...should I trade in the Spector for the Warwick? Should I just buy the Warwick for $675...Or forget it...Any help is Appriciated. Thanx.

$675? I'd just buy the Warwick and have both.

Schecter rhymes with "Spector."

That's what I think.

if you can then buy both but if not keep the spector, its a far superior bass.

keep the spector or have both...unless you totally fall in love with the 'wick.

You can get an absolutely amazing Schecter for less than 675 bucks. Definitely give them a look, in my opinion.

I tried a Schecter right before I bought my Spector. i don't like the neck. Gloss paint on the back makes me mad.

This sounds tough. If I were you I'd try to buy the Warwick if I could get the money, but I wouldn't sell the Spector. Maybe tell your friend to hold the bass for you and get a job?

WEll I'm friends with them over there so the bass is here at my palce. I have a job, I jsut have alot of bills to pay. What do you guys think of the Streamer? It sounds insane or am I better off saving up for Corvette $$?

sell the spector?

123. Personally I believe Warwicks dominate just about anything up to $5,000, save for maybe Warriors or Pedullas which are just as nice.

I think this sounds like a great deal for the Streamer, I've not played a $$ though. I'd probably go with the Streamer over the $$ in this situation. I hope you get one of them anyway.

They do. I ran it through my Hartke 3500 and vx215 and its sooooo sweet.

The only thing that kinda bugs me is the fact its completely passive. Btw anyone know what a brand new streamer std would have retailed at?

I've got a $$ 5'er and i love the sound and it's got a great variety of sound due to the pups. You can get the sig. Warwick or sound or the other day i got a nice punchy Stingray sound out of it. Although the preamp can have a bit too much gain but i got that sorted.

Well, they aren't that popular, but they're definitely quality instruments; hand-made, tone-woods, the goods. I played one at a gig one night because I had actually forgotten my bass. I'm not sure what model it was, but it seemed to have the same distinctive tonal characteristics as a Warwick Thumb, only it wasn't as tonally versatile. The playability was remarkable.

My Spector is active pre-amp passive PUPs, but that Warwick is passive all around. Should I worry?

Hmm, does it have two humbuckers? I think that passive warwick is maybe from some years ago when warwicks were apparently "better". I personally love both of the basses, but I think in terms of quality, the Spector is better, but you'll have to play the warwick, maybe that'll be a better fit for you, And $675 IS a good price.

Conklin and Benavente > All

IMHO, of course. Bill Conklin is a friggin' genius.

And TS: different strokes for different fo'ks. In that case, sell the Spector and get the Streamer, IMO.

The Warwick only has one MEC humbucker. That Warwick has that growl that amazes everyone in my band.

Too be honest I've just never being able to get into warwick my uncle has one and I was'nt pleased at all with the result. Before I got my sadowsky I had the Rex Signature 5 String model and that was a bass with some serious Tone and growl my opinion there aren't much basses out there that will beat the tone you get out of a spector.

Spector Legends are pretty good, but I'd rather the Warwick by far. If you like the growl the Hz PUPs give you (which is barely any :p), you'll LOVE the Warwick growl, especially a passive one. Passive electronics = G-R-O-W-L. :p

I'd sell the Spector and get the Warwick, but only if you're 100% sure you like the Warwick better.

Get it if you like it, not if your band likes it.
