So me and my brother, who plays guitar, went to some drummer's house yesterday and recorded some songs...we basically just got played around with some riffs a few times then just recorded a long jammed out version of them. It's just bass, drums, and guitar on the recordings. My playing is pretty sloppy because I haven't played in awhile...let alone with a drummer.
But anyway here's a link where you can find them if you're interested in hearing them. http://www.myspace.com/kaynan
It's the first 3 songs...
It's much appreciated to those who take time to listen.
Thanks in advance

Yep, pinched harmonics. They're used in lots of different types of music but especially metal.
Here's a lesson on pinched harmonics off of Cyberfret...

thanks, but arent pinched harmonics the same as artificial harmonics?

Not at all.
You do a pinch harmonic by bending and plucking the string with a very strong attack, so the harmonic content rings out above the actual note. It's MUCH easier to do with lots of distortion.
