Wow..... regardless of what your opinion of Alien Ant Farm is, there was no denying it tonight... Those guys put on one of the best shows I've ever seen and I'm a pretty regular concert go'er.
Tye Zamora went to town on his custom Fender 6, and a custom shop version of the 70's reissue Jazz basses.
After they finished the show, Mike Cosgrove (drummer) and Tye went into this 5 minute long jazz breakdown featuring a bass solo that would honestly (not exagerating) make Wooten say, "wow." Mike Cosgrove went into a drum solo that was equally amazing.
The moral of the story, if you want to see an unbelievably good live show, go check out Alien Ant Farm.

If I want to get in the AAF and only have heard "smooth criminal", what should I listen to?
Seems like a great show! :thumb:

Rubber Mallet & Tia Lupé.
Definitely under-rated band.

I have two of their CDs... When's the new one coming out, and did they play anything from it?

I LOVE ANThology. Its one of my favourite CDs, I can listen to it the whole way through. Cosgrove is also one of my favourite drummers as of... A few months ago.
I'd kill to see them in England. Anyone got any idea if they're coming here?

Tye Zamora is actually a very underrated bassist...I think that he is actually veyr good, and one of the best players out there.

Which bass did he use before the Fender Jazz custom? Was it a 6 string Fernandes? In any case, the tone he got out of that with his SWR cabs was stunning. Almost a shame he doesn't use it now...

Oh, and one thing I forgot to mention, I got a VERY good look at what was in his rack, and it was pretty simple actually. from top to bottom it was a 4-space rack drawer, a Furman power conditioner, an Avalon U-5 and two SWR 750X's.
PaulR - Yeah, they played 3 songs from the new CD. They were all actually pretty good too. One of them had Tye playing these really bizarre chords throughout the whole song.
New Born - The bass he used before the custom Fender stuff was a custom 6 made by his friend and luthier Dave Parr.
I've always loved Alien Ant Farm-they're an exceptionally underrated group. Good stuff.

Definitely. ANThology absolutely blows me away when I listen to it. The groove on "Happy Death Day" is really top-notch.

Sounds awesome. I've been a fan of theirs for a while. It's nice to hear that some bands are still capable of playing live.

Tye is one of those bassists that even though he is in a popular band he is virtualy forgotten about in the bass community.
Other bassists which i think fit this description are Sam Rivers from Limp Bizkit
and Rodger from Less Than Jake.

The six string that he plays is one he made himself. I talked to him after a show last night and he was telling me about it. He had Fender make him a copy of it, but he still chooses to play his over theirs. They are both beautiful basses...
He was AWESOME last night. He actually started slapping with his foot... What a show he puts on. He has the chops and the showmanship... as well as awesome vocals.

Kind of a useless post you got there, no? But I guess that's just the dick in you (pun somewhat intended...) :thumb:

Ridiculous bigotry and elitism, eh? Did you use a thesaurus or do you just talk like a douche all by yourself?
The point is: Don't be an asshole. I was making a comment about something regarding the thread. No need for you to point out the thread was 2 weeks old. It's not like the thread is from 2001 or something...
So now... are you done whining?

They got into a bad accident which injured them and killed their driver. That's probably why they were quiet for a little while. They have a new CD out though... I heard it's awesome. I don't own it though.

Two weeks is old to this forum which moves a page a day.
And this just in dickweed: It's a forum, on that magically delicious, diverse, ****-infested zone commonly referred to as the internet. "What purpose did ur post serve lawl omg u dun contribute lawl!!!1!11"
I'm not trying to be an "asshole." That just happens when moronically self-important ****shits like you point out the "pointlessness" of something that's logically valued by nearly the whole of the forum.
IE, if you're too slow to follow: The logical value is that TWO WEEKS is an old thread. If it's more than 9 pages back, it's old. Kthx, goodbye now.

Well I don't think that 2 weeks is old just based on the number of threads that are mass-produced on this forum.
Just because 20 people create threads asking how to tune down to Drop D means you should ignore threads that get pushed to the back because they involve more than "Get a tuner" or "Tune the 7th fret on the lowest string to your A string"
The whole of the forum values using the search function, which in this case I did. I could have just started another thread in which you would have replied "I have a tendancy to whip out my dick and sodomize the maker of every stupid thread that's been done to death on the bass forum, but maybe it's just me."
But then again... I guess that's why your usertitle is "Join the 'Ban Sade' Club." It must because you are such an awesome poster/human being.

Feel better now, dickmunch? Now that you've proved you're better at the internet than I am?
