Heres a pic of me with long hair, tell me whatever you think about it

The reason im asking this is because, Im ****in sick and tired of having to take an extra 15 minutes out of my day to wash it, I hate combing it, I hate getting knots, I hate people pulling it when im fighting, i hate it getting blown all over on windy days, i hate laying on it when im working out; etc the list goes on.

I cant think of any reason to keep it besides being in a death and black metal bands. Is it really needed in metal? Ive always felt that it doesnt matter what a band looks like as long as their music is good. Bands like immortal and other black metal bands look like circus attractions but their music is some of the best (although they do have long hair).

I just cant stand having all this hair on my head, the brushing, conditioning arrrgh, its a pain in the ***. I wanna get it cut short..

So if you think my hair looks good tell me, think it looks bad also tell me, just whatever you think. Im probably gonna cut it next weekend.. not sure how long it will be but probably something like the second pic.

you don't need a mohawk to be punk,
don't need dreadlocks to be reggae
and you don't need long hair to be metal.

its just i have always been the guy who said "long hair is needed in metal you gotta be truu and grym and vrostbitten!!" not to that extent but something like it. and now here i am "selling out" in my mind anyway. i dont know how others feel, i think im making a bigger deal out of it in my mind. i just wanna hear it from others. I understand that some people will always feel long hair is needed but... yea... just give me some feed back, this is really bugging me.

edit- its not just that i listen to metal, its more i dont wanna cut it because i play in like 3 bands, a thrash, death and one black metal. i mean, i believe im a good player, why else would 3 bands want me... hair wouldnt matter right... its not like im gonna go emo or anything..

Um... Get over it?

You don't need long hair.

Personally, I don't mind the upkeep on mine, and I love the Byronesque look it gives me. But it's not for everyone.

The only thing I'd have to say is that if you get a haircut, don't try to headbang. If you've ever seen Kerry King try to headbang since he shaved his head, you'll see what I mean.

I have long hair, it's because i like the way it looks, and I like to headbang.
I play in a symphonic black metal band, so I'm pretty metal and kvlt.

but if I would get fed up with long hair one day, I would just cut it of, and still be the same dude, and be just as metal as before.

I don't think people should take it so close iwth the 'general opinion'.

do what fits you fine

You need long hair to play metal on stage cause you have to do some serious headbanging and hairswirling, if you do that, then you'll be a true metalhead:thumb: .

i think im definitly gonna cut it... people at school call me jesus, it was cool for a while but now i get random ****ers coming up to me asking for a blessing. others call me caveman from the geico commercial, and some chewbacca. i dont really give a **** what others think, i had liked it all this time but i just dont anymore. if i had straight thin hair i may feel different, but i got the curse of this thick, wavy hair that puffs and frizzes on windy days.

the only black metal guy with short hair i can think of is valfars brother... he has a crew cut type thing and the guy is ****in amazing. his names Vegard Bakken and he played for windir after valfar died in the tragic accident.

now that i think about it metal isnt a seen that really cares what the people look like. i mean its not like inync where if the members shaved their heads bald, theyd lose all their fans. metal is actually about the music and not the physical appearence.

ANYWAY

You should use lots of conditioner, and when you are taking a shower, comb your hair in the shower, it really helps. That way when you get out and dry off, when you comb your hair it will have no knots or anything.

If it gets in your way, put it in a ponytail.

If someone grabs it while your fighting then....that's just retarted. Punch them in the face, or do that **** where you hit them in the nose with your palm, and it breaks their nose OR shoves the bone into their brain and kills them.

It's quite sad that people think long hair is essential.

I could bring up the point that you're all queers that want long hair to look like the latest girl you couldn't pull. Stupid isn't it? So is classifying people because of their hair.

It help in looking ultra cool while headbanging. You can go bald get a few extra piercings and tattoos and still be "true".

If it gets in your way, put it in a ponytail.

That's what I did, I grew my hair, and it got to the point where it just went really big and stuck out loads. So now I just put it in a ponytail. It doesn't get in your way then either:thumb:

To anyone saying there hair is too frizzy and curly, why don't you just straighten it?
