I don't understand why Mark Everett doesn't get that much attention on these forums. This album is just incredible...it's sad (Understanding Salesmen), uplifting (Losing Streak), catchy(Going Fetal). It's got everything. I love this album so much. There are not many double-albums that keep me listening all the way through, but this is one of them.
The opening track "Theme From Blinking Lights" does remind me alot of Elliott Smith.
Yeah that record is unbelievable. I don't like the others as much, though. We repped that record for a while around here, as I recall. I haven't listened to it in a long time.

It is a decent record from what i've heard. Never had the chance to appreciate it as much as i do Daisies of the Galaxy though.

It's good, but I find it a bit too much to take in at one time, which is why I prefer an album like Electro-Shock Blues.

I don't think I've ever listened to the whole of it.

It's really nice, one of my favorite albums this year and definitely one of the best Eels albums.
It can be hard to digest though... that guy has such low self-esteem that it can be a depressing record. Lyrics like "I never thought enough of myself to realise that losing me could mean something like the tears in your eyes". That's almost too painful to listen to. Beautiful song, though.

Eels are underrated, i agree. Electro-Shock Blues is one of the most beautifull, depressing albums i know. E writes great lyrics, even if they are really sad.

I like a lot of E's stuff, but I haven't picked this one up yet. I plan to now. :)

I this the latest one to be released. If so i like what ive heard on the radio. Love that song with the home made video clip with dog. Nice, simple but highly enjoyable.

I digs Eels, but I have yet to mish to my friend's house to listen to the new stuff though. Word of advice to newcomers: AVOID EELS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A GIRLFRIEND. It can be suicide.

That man writes the most depressing lyrics. Ever. It's not emo - in fact, it's quite happy a lot of the time - but that stuff will make anyone slash their wrists. Go listen to "It's A Motherfucker". Not a good example, but I can't think of one right now.

I don't have a girlfriend, and i had a steady girlfriend for quite some time. I find comfort in his music. I guess it's different for different people. :)

I think I need to get into the Eels. I've always enjoyed the singles they release.

Ja, it's probably just me and my emo friends. :) I'm in grade 11 now so a lot of us are only coming out of the "I need a girlfriend" thing now (either with a gf or without one).
I'm not really emo. Honest. I don't even wear pink.
