If you are looking to buy some gear and are undecided or want more information, post the name of the item here and if someone has the item, they will hopefully make a review on it.

Before posting, please be sure to check the Review Index (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=338554), to see if it has been reviewed already.

i have the behringer bx1200. man what an amp . it pomps out amazing sound low ends and high ends. the ultrabass effect it comes with is a pretty cool effect to hear somthing different. the only problem is that its really heavy about.(65lbs). and i got this pretty cheap for about $250 most amps of this quality are about $350+ so get this if u can.

I would really appreciate it if someone could write a review on the Schecter Stiletto Custom Bass. The model I would like is the 4 string version in the natural finish. No one in the Bass Forum would respond to my thread about this bass. If possible, recommend me some bass in the $400-500 price range. I play rock, metal, jazz, blues, and funk. Peavey Milestone 3 or Ibanez GSR200 comments would be great.

Hi,

I've had a milestone 3 for a year and a half now. I think it is a really good bass, I bought it to learn on and it took all the abuse a new player gives without showing any problems. The tone control and individual pickup volume controls give a good range of tones for a beginner bass especially if used together with amp eq's or fx. I'm just about to upgrade (although I don't really need to, I've just fallen in love with a bass I tried in a shop the other day) as I'm starting to find the tone a little flat in places but it's been solid as a rock and I'm definitely gonna keep it when I upgrade. It's a great bass for the price and I'd recommend it to any beginner/intermediate. You'll only feel the need for something else once you start doing a lot of gigs or wanting to try any outlandish, weird sounds.

Hope that helps

Peavey Milestone 3 or Ibanez GSR200 comments would be great.
I have a ibanez gsr 205 and it is a really nice bass to play. people may think it is bad because it is bottom of the range but it plays really nice with a fast neck and an action that is nice, although I had to adjust it a little bit. the sound on it is really good aswell with the volume for each pick up normal tone and then active tone which really pumps some bass out. I would recommend it but I know that I will want another bass in a years time so if you have to money get something a bit more worthwhile like a fender or something.

warwick vampyre rockbass or any other metal looking bass guitars that sound good too

I have the Warwick Vampyre SN, not the Rockbass version, but anyway.....

My 5-string Vampyre is a real treat to play. Although the body is heavy, it is easy to position and well-balanced. It came very well set up from the factory, only minor adjustments were needed. I did not have any experience with MEC-pick-ups before I bought the bass, but so far they have given me no problems at all. No noise whatsoever. The lows are really rumbling, and the highs cut through like a knife with the distinct warwick-sound. The mids can be a bit neutral, but nothing a compressor couldn`t handle. I have nothing to complain about, except maybe for the price, but I was able to haggle it down 300$ at the store.

Hope this was any usefull! ...and if someone has something to say about MEC-electronics, please do.

"hanani" a word of warning about the Ibanez Ergodyne 605... While it may be the best bass out there for looks (IMO) the sound quality and general design is not totally desirable. The main problem is that the neck is far too thin for a 5-string causing the sound quality to suffer and making slapping even more difficult!

I bought this amp just after it came out for the same price as the HCM120. fink it was £275. this amp is amazing. the equaliser on it allows you to muck around and get wotever sound you want. nice front as well, ive dropped mine a couple times n smashed into it and no dints at all to metal grate. wen this babies full blast you can still hear the bass perfectly, and doent produce much buzz and it shakes the room, ive had glasses knocked off the shelves. the gain n enhance help alot to put a nice punchier low end sound to it as well as boosting the over volume.
also the look of it. its jus looks really really ****in cool

overall a very very nice amp. id advise any1 whoes lookin for a new amp to get this one.

Ibanez K5; A great bass with a thundering low B string. Its a real low blow to guitarists-the amount of low end notes that you can get. It's sturdy as hell as well, you could drop a sledge hammer on it and it probably won't break! (wouldn't try it though!) If you wan't to get it you have to be into Korn and that type of music else you might be disapointed. Check ibanez.com for the detailed description. Well, hope that helped.

I'm looking for a bass amp. I want something that won't be too much for just practicing by myself, but will also be audible if I decide to play with a band. I was thinking something like a 2x10, but the guys I've talked to while shopping said I might need a little more than that to be heard with a band. I'm still not sure what I want, but one guy pointed out the Kustom Groove 2x10 combo with 600 W, which was $600 or $700 I think he said. This seems like a pretty good deal to me, but I haven't looked around all that much. I'm not really looking for highly detailed reviews, I'm just seeking recommendations. Thanks.

I'm a real big fan of the P-bass. Yet, The Jazz bass has the sound. This leads me to mention the current lineup of "Fender" products. I notice, since the time I started to play bass, there's been advancements to bass design, since the world famous, Fender designs. I played my share of cheap basses, and of japanese"copies". My reason for writing this is, I got "tricked",somewhat. I bought a Squier P-bass. After buying it, it seemed nobody wanted to set it up. nor honor the name. I was told, why would I buy that cheap copy of a Fender? So, the dealer, i brought this from , won't have my business any more, and the Squier, does have a 'bad" neck bow to it. It's a shame how a person buys a trusted name, to only be treated like , "we got your money, we got you". Which leads me to a another point. The P-bass, and the Jazz bass, has such a reputation, why start these different "series" being made in the US, or Mexico, or Asia? I read reviews, and most have complaints about the Mexican instruments, not being as good as their American counterparts. Yet, from the pictures i seen in Fender's catalog, The Hightway 1 Jazz, has the same tuners as the Squier, and the fender "standard" Jazz bass (which is also made in Mexico). Of course, there is American Jazz Bass(which I cannot effort), I thought about the Highway 1 Jazz Bass, and when i read the "specs", it has the same 'guts", as the Fender standard. Yes, The wood is different, and so is the finish, and the highway 1 is cheaper than the American Jazz. Of course, there is the deluxe series(which I don't like active eletronics), and my hands, only can handle a Jazz-type width. My point is, If a player wants a P-bass,or a Jazz bass, get the Mexican classics. They are really good, and if their set-up right, you got something. I made a big mistake, getting rid of my 60's Jazz bass from mexico.

this is Fenderman, i got something to say about todays' Fenders. Done tried, two Squires, one fender standard jazz bass, and one 60's classic jazz bass. All had neck problems and "nut" problems. These instruments, came right from the factory this way.I wish, I never got rid of my CBS p-bass, 1974. Tried G&L, doesn't have the musicman "tone". You guys know what I mean! Lord-willing , the next Bass that i will get will be, An Ernie Ball Musicman Stringray. As I once heard, when Leo made the Stringray, he "made" the Fender Precision Bass of the future. I heard that over 20 yrs. ago, and when I tried a new one, the workmanship was still there, like it was from the "get-go". And It has a "soul". I wish they brought back the sabre, it too had a "soul". Fenderman1956,sorry Fender Musical Instruments

if you are new to bass playing, any beginner pack is good. They usually come with a bass, amp, cord, and some type of beginner book. Get some skills then if you haven't quit and develop a love for bass do some research on the type of equipment and setup you want

Rogue isn't known for quality... They are beginner basses that will produce a bass like sound. However this sound will not sound good.
