Popcore
Senses Fail
Underoath (at least the newer stuff)
Hawthorne Heights
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Spitalfield
Silverstein
From First To Last
Funeral For A Friend
A Static Lullaby
Pop-Punk
Fall Out Boy
Saves the Day
Motion City Soundtrack
Brand New
Straylight run
HIPV
Starting Line
Rufio
Allister
Halifax
Unwritten Law
Armor for Sleep
Finch (even though the newer stuff is wierd prog-pop-punk)
The rest is indie/post-hardcore/metalcore, and a few bands i never heard anything from. Those people are retards for calling themselves a genre of music, and bigger tards for listening to unwritten law. At least they dont think emo is 'that music thats about hating life and cutting yourself and being sad all the time'.

Hardcore and Post-Hardcore have distinct differences.
Emo is very similar to post-hardcore as they are kinda one in the same
Indie is more of a catch all phrase for bands that are more experimental and don't really follow any other genres
Silverstein I haven't listened to in over 3 years so I'm not positive on that, but they are deffinently not emo.
HWM like I said earlier are a mix of hardcore and post-hardcore, also depends on what song you're listening to.

1. Hardcore isn't always screaming or growling.
2. Post-Hardcore isn't that heavy. It is made by slow melodic parts that turn heavier.
3. Emo is made by both the music and lyrics. Bands like TBS and Hawthorne Heights meet none of this standards.

Dividing a band into sub-genre's is really hard to do. Some peaple say by music, some say by what they stand for (lyrics, beliefs, image). I think its both. There is not really a solid answer on how to label bands like that. Mostly just opinion, some on fact.
It's the music and how it's delivered. What a band has to say doesn't change the genre, it's how everything's executed.

its on the way the band sounds and the delivery of that sound. otherwise if you took all political music (beliefs) you would have stuff from anarcho punk to grind to hippie to folk etc. in one genre.
