Bull****.

Depends on your soundcard.
Some have a mic/1/4" jack as well, like my Audiy 2 Platinum.

If you do not have one the best investment is a mixer, behringers have a range of less expensive pricing.

Talk to your local store, get something to plug into your line in on your soundcard. Normally goes into tht 1/8" jack by using a Y-jack from the mixer stereo feed, into the 1/8" line in on your soundcard.

The limit of only buying a guitar box, is it can only be used for guitar, which would be a ****ing dumb waste of money imo.

You will need some type of pre-amp (unless your guitar has one) or go direct out from your amp to the Line in of your PC.

I am not sure what software you use but you can go Here (http://www.kreatives.org/kristal/) and download Krystal Audio engine for free. It will give you 16 tracks to work with.

As mentioned, you will need a 1/4" female to 1/8" adapter. I would also suggest you get a 1/8" extension cord. I would get a 3 feet section. That way you can leave the cord on the floor and you do not have to worry about the adapter sticking out of the back of your pc and smacking your soundcard around.
