getting my mic to work on computer

hey, i just bought a new computer and the mic wont work... its my mic that i used on my other computer (which worked fine), but on this computer it just doesnt work, i tryed everything! i got it pluged in right and stuff. and its not muted or anything, i even tryed diff mics... i think it might be something to do with the drivers or something.. can someone help me?? :confused:

go to volume control then go to properties and make sure the line in and mic volume is up....

did you go to "control panel"
click on "multimedia"
and choose something to record with? it might say "soundblaster" or whatever your card is..

try that maybe?
