If you could please help my friend out that would be awesome
Im wondering what the best digital multi-track recorder is for a person just starting out in recording. he is no dumb**** but he doesnt know it all. Is there any recorder/workstation that he can kinda get the feel for recording but still have pretty good quality recording. Him and I are in a band with 4 other ppl and we want to get into recording. His LIMITS are less than 600 bucks but he would much rather spend less than that. could you PLEASE give me a wide variety of things for differnt prices. Did i miss anything?
Thank you!

any recording unit will be easy to use they have instructions..... our school has some yahama one which is good... you probably want a pretty large hard drive and a inbuilt burner

Unless you'd rather go with computer audio recording....which is more complicated, but provides MUCH better quality and many more options.... I'd say any 4-8 track redorder would do okay. However, for a complete band, go with 8 track or more. Don't know what brands to recomend!

Not unless you get an interface with high-quality preamps

That'd be quite a bit more expensive right?

A decent computer and presonus firepod will run you more than a good recorder with good preamps.
