I'm gonna be really brave and creat a Son Of Dork thread, and almost certainly get shot for it. I actually think they're quite catchy, and if they didn't have that tit James Bourne singing, would be a really good band. Fightstar are really good too. Now theres just the member of Busted who actually looked punk to create his own band.

Discuss...

Fightstar are genuinely a good band though. I saw Son of Dork perform on Popworld (5 channels on TV and no broadband, give me a break!) and I have to say it's such a poorly made band. 3 guitarists, although from the way they sound only 2 could be used. A screamer who makes me wish I was listening to Hawthorne Heights, and 2 of the band members both looked like they didn't want to be there.

I'll be honest, I think they won't get far, even considering the amount of publicity they will get on shows like CDUK, who can't seem to take their heads out of anything whoreable's arses.

Yep, their frontman used to be in Busted, and I'm not a huge fan or them.

I've never heard of them before now.

They're really poppy, but they sound okay.

I find it amusing that their initials are SOD.

I find it amusing that they can get away with this geeky pop-punk style nowadays.

Or the fact that their name is Son of Dork in the first place, it's so pathetic.

So I'm guessing people think they should do what the title of this thread says?

Yeah. The third guy from Busted (I don't know his name. Matt I think, stupid MTV) is doing a solo project as well, apparently being helped by Tom Delonge, so I have a little faith in that.

But Son of Dork won't do well I think. And they should sod off

Wasn't Matt the one who was an alcoholic when Busted split?

Thing is when you look at Busted, Charlie was always the talented one, Matt was the punky one, leaving James to write the songs, hence them being a rubbish pop band. If the others had a bigger say in what went off, Busted could have been a good band!

i think they are called Son Of Dork because these bands seem to have an obsession with back to the future (can't blame them really..)

but yeah, i know this... my girlfriends little sister told me.

terrible band though, why do they ahve to make them american whiny accents? if i want whiny accents i'll go for the real thing, being me my NFG, TSL, SoCo CD's and leave me in a dark room for an hour.

Its really strange that they sound so American, when they are British. He even writes lyrics in an American way, when he talks about the 'Football team' meaning American Football. Being British refering to football is soccer, and the team wouldn't flatten you like they do in the video (unless they fancied a step into rugby) It's just so American, but not. The third guitarist is useless, they could probably manage with one when you listen to Ticket Out Of Loserville. Fightstar have managed to lost the 'post-boyband' label, Im not so sure SOD will be able to, as its too similar sounding to Busted. When you listen to the opening of TOL it sounds so Blink its untrue.

Catchy song none the less.
