Right, I have now been waiting 2 months for my 20" K Custom Session Ride (all paid for). I went into the music store today and they said it could be another month possibly (maybe longer). They have a 21" A Sweet Ride in stock right now, which is my 3rd favourite ride (KCS is my first)
So, my question is; would you wait another month (maybe longer) for the KC (after already 2 months) or just get the A as soon as possible?
Plan B.

Get what you really want. You don't wanna settle when you're thinking about a ride. Try the Sweet againt though, you may turn out to like it.
Buy the one that sounds best for you.

I do really, really like the Sweet Ride, it's just I prefer the KC.
/\ the above comment means nothing, I have ben waiting 2 months for it, with no gurantee of when it will arrive.

If you like the K session better wait for it, you'll regret it if you don't get it. Its going to come in then you'll be like "Dam why didn't I wait". If you like the A better then go get that one. You sound like you perfer the K so just wait it out

Patience is key. It will be much more exciting if you wait for it.

i got a good idea. go to a music store that has a 30-day money back guarantee. "buy" a ride, and when your ride comes in the mail, return the one you "bought" at the store.

most stores will only give you store credit, not cash.
if there is another store near you, look there and see if they have it.

Yeah, you will definately enjoy it more since you waited for it. I personally would go with a sweet ride but only cause I have one. Then again I wouldnt mind switching things up every now and then with a K ride, so im sure if i was in your situation id make a thread too

Don't settle, go for what you really want. If you're just seeing what people prefer, I love sweet rides.

Idk, id go for the session if you want to wait since that is what you origanally wanted, but last time i was at the drum store the owner of it was telling me that zildjian is really far behind in production and has people working 24/7 at thier factories trying to make up for the demand. But if you want a ride now then i would go for the sweet ride.

I don't really like the Sweet Ride.. so K custom. But anyway just wait for it, waiting can be fun as long as its not delayed for like a year or something (not mentioning any names) ;)

sweet ride= hot sex. i'm not too familiar with the session's, can you crash on it? If not thats one thing the sweet ride has over the session(besdie the sweet being versatile and awesome)

Crashiness of it don't matter. Its a ride, not a crash.

if you want to crash a ride you can, remember "ride" is just a label.

So what happens if you dont like the sound of the K? Having ordered a custom... unheard is risky no?

The way I see it, I'd be spending the money on more drum stuff anyway so it really doesn't matter to me, haha.

So what happens if you dont like the sound of the K? Having ordered a custom... unheard is risky no?That's not even risky, if you order it through a store, you can order in whatever you want, try them all out and buy the one you like. It's not like they can't sell the others to other people. As far as ordering online goes... who cares, send it back for a full refund. No risk in it at all really. I'm still waiting for my 2 rides to come in to the local Long & Mcquade.

My second choice is 20" A Custom Ping, which they don't have in stock.
I still dunno what I'm gonna do... I love the Sweet Ride and if I got that my kit would look really 'clean', having an A ride and A Custom crashes and hats. (I'm swapping my 17" K Custom Fast Crash for a 17" A Custom Medium Crash due to the KCF not projecting enough over my 19" AC crash).
I love the Session ride a bit more I think, but I'm getting annoyed at waiting (I've been waiting for a new Snare Strainer from Mapex for 5 months now as well).
I have listened to the Session, just a different one before it got sold (I know there is a slight difference, but it's not gonna be a big enough difference to think it's a different ride.)

How will it not look clean if you get the Session? The Session is still brilliant, the Sweet ride you get might not be... Sweet rides are probably more versatile, so personally, I would be more tempted to buy it, but K Customs are great cymbals and really shine in certain settings.

I meant it would look clean becasue all my cymbals would be A/A Custom.

If you like the K Cust., stick with it. It'll be worth the wait.
If you like the Sweet Ride more, go with it.
Don't get a 20" A Cust. Ping, get a 22", if you get one at all.

I've been waiting nearly 3 months for my K Custom Dark Ride, I'm happy to wait a bit longer to get the ride I want, I suggest you do the same.
There is obviously a big,big delay with Zildjian at the moment here in the UK

Yeah, the guy said they are running at full capacity and are struggling to keep up with orders.
I would really like to test the KC Session again, against the Sweet Ride, but no one has it in stock :(
