I'm sat here, trying to book Nightrage for my Band Night I co-promote and some Def Leppard just came on on WMP.
I love this band, they're nothing special, but they are cool in an unusual **** rock way and they don't get enough attention here.
My favourite song is Now, can't beat a good acoustic-ish song. Discuss Def Leppard...
Geez, this needs at least one reply.
I like Def Leppard on occasion, though they can sometimes be too much. My favorite song is Photograph or Rock Of Ages.

Why are they the worst? They aren't the coolest band to like, but their songs are quite catchy and are kinda relaxing.

Where's this reason why they are the worst band in the world then? Wouldn't want people in these here forums to think you're an elitist poser now, would we? :p
C'mon, as far as cheesy 80's metal goes, it's not bad.

Ugh. Now I have relive the experiance. I saw them on the Slang tour. I never liked them before, but was hoping they would rock a little. Nope. They sounded exactly like their records. Only not as energetic. Sugary, pompous, slick, oily, slippery, bombastic pile of poo. Running around the stage in too tight pants and white Nikes singing about "Pour some suga' on meeeee!". Man, relaxing is right. I almost fell asleep.
One Arm is good for a chuckle or two, though.

I absolutely hate Def Leppard. Their songs are dumb and just plain annoying. It also annoys me, that out of the masses of British bands out there (many of which are brilliant), one of the few that manages to break through to the mainstream are these boring sods. But their American success is easy to understand, I suppose...
They all wear Union jacks, but sing in those horrible fake American accents

He'd of been better off losing both arms. Then he wouldn't have to listen to all that dreadful music every night. Although I'm sure they would of found a way to prop him up behind his kit somehow. That sideshow is probably responsible for at least half their ticket sales as it is. Imagine a drummer with no arms! Even better, amirite?
/attention for Def Leppard.

musically, i dont know why everybody says it sucks. not very innovative, but its exercising what has already been done and just building up speed. if your a shred fan, where the hell do you think it all came from? cheesy 80s metal. hah. say it sounds the same, but who cares, at least it doesnt sound bad like all this new lets-see-who-can-scream-the-loudest-into-the-mic bullsh*t.
def leppard is sweet. my favorites are pour some sugar on me (of course), foolin, rocket, photograph, and love bites. foolin helped me through a bad time. rockets stupid and i wouldnt like it except its fun to sing at the top of your lungs.

Those are not valid reasons...it does look like your trolling and you're probably only trying to look cool in front of all the Elitists. Maybe if you gave a reason why you don't like them, instead 'they suck' or 'worst song ever', maybe we'll take you a wee bit more seriously.

Those are perfectly valid reasons. For me the reasons Def Leppard stink are obvious. So I'd rather not get into it.
Other then the fact they make heartless, gutless, stale, pandering faux rock, I guess they are ok. But other then that they serve no purpose. Completely useless, for me they represent everything that is wrong about rock n roll.

Well you said "Discuss Def Leppard", it's a small thread, and some other posters had similar opinions and comments. So I figured it would be ok. And of course I would never go into a better established thread and criticize a band, unless the discussion warranted it. Plus this thread is very old and has few posts, so I thought stirring up a little fuss might help it out. Because I knew the fanboys would come out. As they always do.
And besides, Def Leppard have it coming. :p

Def Leppard is an awesome band, they show good classic 80s rock. They had been through alot and are still rockin out today. The drummer lost his arm in an accident. They thought it was over, but they kept going and show they are a strong, kik *** band

You know what? You are dead wrong here. This guy has said nothing to offend anyone or to deserve this kind of treatment. I've seen him post in other threads and he posts fine. His posts in this thread? Nothing wrong with them. This is a little thread that someone made about Def Leppard. Which is a band most can agree are loved and hated. So he had a couple of one line opinions? Big deal.
This thread had no lengthy F.A. put into it where the TS would of course be given extra comsideration. That's just good posting manners. It also was not a stickied "Official" thread of any kind. It's simply a thread that a fellow board member put up that said "Discuss Def Leppard". And everyone gets there panties in a bunch over a guy saying "One of the worst bands ever" and "One of the worst songs ever". Which is an opinion many would agree with. So what? He explained why that was his opinion, and quite frankly he has a point. If he can't express it freely in this thread, what is he supposed to do? Make his own thread about it?
Someone else accused him of "trying to look cool in front of the Elitist". Well I tell you what, the only ones who sound like elitist here are you and the other posters who are picking on a good new R&M poster just because he has an opinion opposite yours. This is not the Metallica thread with 33,000 plus posts. It's not the Floyd, Beatles, or Zep thread. It is not The Who thread, which has been cared for and watched over by myself and a few other members. It is not a "fans only" thread. This dog died two months ago two days after it was created. Total posts: 24. And if it hadn't been mercifully bumped by IbanezSamurai it would have stayed dead. Which is where it's headed once again.
So why doesn't everyone get their collective heads out of there asses and stfu. You sound like a bunch of pricks. No offense.

Posting "This band sucks" without reason isn't a good post.
Also Rules say
2. Don't start arguments. This goes nowhere and basically ruins the mood of the forum.
Which that guy was doing on purpose.
I'm all for people expressing their opinion, but it's taking the piss when someone is repeatingly saying 'this band sucks' .etc.
Why did you even post in here? You only just bumped this thread and prevented it from dying.
No offense.
None taken :p
Maybe I overdid it. I just don't appreciate people who say they hate a band yet give no reason. He could have been a little constructive.
I also had a look at his other posts and he does portray intelligence as a poster. Something that seems to be lacking here due to the recent influx of new members.

Exactly guys. And that's why I think it pays sometimes to give a guy a break. He was concerened, as he asked questions about it in another thread. We advised him to become a little more known around the R&M forum before he makes those kinds of posts. And quite frankly I think he may of seen Rob's post before him, saw no one jumped on him, and figured one liners are ok. And I thought he did explain himself pretty well so far as why he doesn't like Def. Whatever the case, he said in the other thread he wouldn't visit this thread again and he has kept his word.
Anyway, no harm no foul. I think he took a bit too much heat and I don't want to see potentially good R&M posters get alienated simply because they don't quite understand how things are set up around here. Perhaps I was a bit over the top, too. And of course I'm not defending anyone. But enough is enough, me thinks. And let's hope we can all make R&M a good place to be for every poster in this forum. Whether we agree with them on everything or not. :)

British heavy metal giants Def Leppard plan to record their eleventh studio album later this year, with a prospective release date some time in 2007. The band will begin recording after completing a tour in support of upcoming release 'Yeah!,' which will most likely begin in June.
'Yeah!' is a collection of cover songs drawn mainly from 70s glam and metal icons, such as T-Rex, Thin Lizzy and Roxy Music, aswell as an already released cover of the Kinks' pop landmark 'Waterloo Sunset.' Thin Lizzy's 'Don't Believe A Word' and a cover of Roxy Music's 'Street Life,' which Vivian Campbell says resembles 'more of a punk rock song,' are also said to be highlights. The album is expected to be released in late March or early April.
Also, I wrote a bio of the band here (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands.php?bandid=2201). If there's any mistakes or anything, please point them out.
