personally i would get the stingray. what do you need out of it? i have the stingray 5 and am in love with it.

Good bass for slapping. Les Claypool uses the Fender sometimes, but I've heard people say Stingray is better

I had this choice to make a few weeks ago. I bought a Fender Americian Jazz. I love it. I'd go with the Fender. But that's just my opinion, don't but either of them untill you have played them both and know the features of both.

the slap on my sr is beautiful... ive never really gotten much out of jazzes, except for the marcus miller sig. those things are wonderful. if your going to get a jazz, try one of those. but the stingray is still better:)

Find a shop that has them both and play them!! Which ever one you like the best, buy. Its all about personal opinion.
