hi all
as you know, i have recently learnt how to slap, and want to focus on building up speed.
i made a thread like thas a while ago, but the search function isn't finding it.
anyway, i was wandering is anybody could reccomed a good slap song which is faster that the antipop, slower than higher ground, and not that hard, i still need to get used to slapping :D
thanks dudes

That thread? I could merge the two if you like, so you don't have two.

Stuart Hamm - A night in hell is a pretty fast song, dunno if you'd call it intermediate or advanced though

hmmmm, i'll do aeroplane. i got the powertab, but with muted notes, do you just not bounce your finger off, so you get the metallic clip, but not the ringing of the note?

Get up and jump is the song I learned fast slapping. It's an impressive song to "watch" at, looks alot harder than it is..

Slower than Higher Ground? That is probably the easiest slap line I can think of. A ton easier than Aeroplane or something.

Aeroplanes pretty slow on the slapping parts though.

The song I learnt most of my right hand slapping speed on was "nobody weird like me" by RHCP. The fretting hand barely moves in the main riff, but I found it really useful for right hand speed, because it's a pretty universal pattern.

slapping octaves with a drum machine or metronome will do wonders over a period time
set a pace like 90bpm, 30 days later go to 105bpm, if you pratice this daily for over period of time(3-6 months and longer) you will pick up a lot of speed

Yeah, but it has a lot more mutes and stuff that Higher Ground.

higher ground is very easy IMO but as someone else said take the power back. it was the first slap song that i learned and still play the riff to this day

about the mutes in aeroplane, to do a muted slap can i just not bounce my thumb of?

Use your fretting hand to deaden the string, then slap your thumb. It will create a dea dnote, or muted note.
