You know, bi-amping, where you're attracted to the high and low frequencies. Or some people are sick enough to be attracted to the clean and distorted channels.

I was considering getting a 2x10 since I only have a 1x15 that doesn't supply enough high end. It's a Kustom, and anyone who owns one know that they don't do high end very well.

I've always wanted to try a clean high end with a lightly distortioned low-end.

Frequency wise, I swing both ways.

I expected this thread would be about how could play lefty and righty.

So, you do bi-amp for lows and high?

And I don't think anyone here can play lefty and righty.

I know for a fact that Jean Baudin penetrates both of the inputs on his 9 string Pac bass.

I want to try playing with a clean very warm signal and one dropped an octave with distortion on it. I think that would be one powerful sound.

I like running a tube bass amp/cab for a lightly overdriven low end and a distorted guitar amp/cab for the midrange and highs.

If I ever start up a power trio I'll actually set that up, but for a two guitar band it's overkill, plus it'll just p*ss the rhythm guitarist off.

Who here swings both ways?
I think a better question is who here doesn't?

After considering this possiblity, I decided it would cost too much money and all the extra gear to lug around wouldn't really be worth it. Being limited in what basses you can use your rig with isn't such a good thing, either. (two seperate outputs, not just two different amps running the same signal but processed differently)

I run mids, highs, and lows all seperate.

Highs to an SVT CL- 8x10
Mids to a Mesa Bass 400-6x10+ 1x15 (I bought it to be a stand alone rig)
Lows to a Tube Pre and then a power amp, and then through 4 Peavey 15's.

I'd hate to be your rodie 802.

I'm a total fan of distorted and clean run through two amps though I rarely get the chance. Maybe I'll find a nice cheap guitar amp sometime to add to my rig.

Love the highs and lows yeah.

I would like bi amping, though haven't yet and can't see it in the near future.

Also I think you can just use a split connector of some kind to seperate to two different amp's Led Zep. I dont think it Requires a dual output, though you would need a high/low filter relatively for each amp. Which could be a hassle. Sorry not big on the know how for that sort of thing or I'd give more info on it.

I tried bi-amping when I had an SVT-4 and a 2x15 and 4x10 cabinet. It wasnt great, no matter how I tried to work it.

My current cab setup is two different 4x10s- Goliath III and Mesa/Boogie Powerhouse. Its not bi-amping, but pushes all the frenquencies pretty nice.

In my band, i have to hold the low end. My guitarist has a very trebly/middy strat, so my bass has to be scooped and boomy. I have definition, but a lot of thump...Bi-amping is gay anyway...

If I had a full stack, yes, I would bi-amp for lows and highs. I was just saying that it'd be interesting to combine both by splitting the highs and lows, and then distorting the lows.

That's funny, I was posting on a forum with bi-amping and he posted saying you were gay.

Take your opinions elsewhere.

Isn't the point of a forum to give opinions?

My opinion is that Bi-amping is gay...Simple as...you don't like? Don't read it...

Why are you looking to distort the lows? I tri amp, and most bi amp, so they can get a more distorted high-end, and cleaner lows.

Distorted low stuff tends to sound poo-ey

I once saw Bi-amping make a pass at a dude, true story...

Hey, on the subject, would I be able to use my little 10-Watt guitar amp as a tweeter?

i absolutely LOVE bi-amping and to get the tone i have with that would be next to impossible with out doing so.

defined lowend with a touch of chorus through a 15" and growly mid range through my little hartke head and 2x10" i sometime add distortion to the hartke and i sound killer.

its funny cuz i always say im gonna sell my hartke cuz i dont rlly NEED it but then i play biamped nd always change my mind.

not true... done well a low end distortion can be sweet but i find its very hard to get it set right.

I was only planning on a little distortion for the lows, and it was just for experimenting. Plus, I think it might add kind of a cool sound. Really heavy when low, light and crisp up high.
