Alright, so my bx3000t is not really up to my standards anymore. These are 2 heads that seemed to meet my specifications. No, i haven't played either of them, yes i intend to, but i have a feeling i'm going to have to hunt around for these, if it turns out they're actually worth it.

any experience with these? any other suggestions? ($500 U.S.D. max) I'm not going to mention what kind of sound i'm looking for b/c i'm really open to anything and maybe there's some unique sound out there that i haven't heard and would maybe enjoy.

For $500 you could get into a pre/power setup if you buy used. If you add another $100 to your limit you could get into one for new. My suggestion is a QSC RMX 850 power amp, and one of the following preamps:
-Sansamp RBI
-Gallien-Krueger 2001RBP
-BBE BMax

More tone, more power, for less money... makes sense huh? :D

Ampeg always has good stuff, and Mesa boogie has that one awesome head

I like the tone of the GK the most, I like the warmth of the Sansamp the most, and I like the features of the BMax the most.... .tough call.
