anyone got a pic on there kit of what they look like. i hate going by the pictures on internet sites as they always look fake(and what i can tell these cymbals look worse then the B8's) and no local stores sell them. and i have found a decent price. and have heard many things. but hopefully i can find a soundclip to.

they look to me as if they are gona have a long ring after hitting the cymbal. like cheap bits of metal? do you have a description of them? or how they compare to other cymbals? thanks for the pictures:)

I have a good set of XS20s, had a discussion on here about em a while back. I like them, but they need other brands to compliment and perhaps give a fuller sound. The 18" has a fairly deep sound, the 14" sounds a bit hollow? Not sure how to describe it. But on the whole, I like them. If you can get a great deal on them like I did, go for it!

agreed, i like them on the whole, but am adding the wuhan s series pack...16" and 18" crashes, and 18" chinas, which are getting delivered to me on tuesday. i think together it will be a good sound for not that much money.

i don't think they are gongy, BUT i haven't had too many different cymbals.

So I've got those cymbals, but I can't describe them very well.

dont buy the rock models. my 18" Rock crash is all gongy. the only thing that saves it is its Dom Famularo Autograph

they look to me as if they are gona have a long ring after hitting the cymbal. You're an expert on lathing and hammering and things of that nature, so you can tell what a cymbal will sound like just by looking at it? That's impressive ;).

I got them for free when i bought my Sonor set. It was the rock pack and i didnt like the crash or hats because they were waay too thick but the ride is pretty nice sounding.

Our school has a medium thin 16" crash, it has a wonderful sound. It has a nice, shimmering crash with a fast and smooth decay. We use it for jazz band.

the Medium-thins are ok. i've heard a few that are great crashes, other that are gongs. be careful when picking those

i am ;) Some of us are, yes, but tone and definition are easier to pick out than "gonginess" lol.

perhaps....but enh. i've heard more gongy XS20's than pleasant ones

They're decent cymbals. I think I'd rather have them than 502's, b8's (naturally), zbts.

I think they're about on par with 802's. I'd rather have xs20 crashes than the 802s though. I had an 802 plus crash once.. man that thing is glassy, and not in a good way. At least, I don't think so.

I have a "performance" set of XS20's. 14/16/20. -I think they're pretty good...The ride is a bit Bright and washy for my tastes though, the crash sounds a tad dead, and the hats are a bit rough sounding when you play them loose.

But! i still think they were worth the money (free with my kit)

I have a pair of xs20 hats. I find they are really heavy, and sort of chunky sounding...they sound decent...but I'd really rather have something lighter now. Good for a rock setting.

That's the exact deal I got.

Same here at my local store, except i swapped the 20 ride for the 18 crash and he knocked another 15 off, so i bought a pinstripe drum head, paid 200 and said i'd owe em a tenner. When I went in to collect the 18" they'd forgotten i owed em anything, so that was even more off.

I can't reccomend the XS20's to be honest, id reccomend the B8pro's over those. IMO they have a MUCH better tone, less gongy and overall just plain better.

But Jimbo! B8 Pros don't have the marketing gimmick of being made with B20 bronze! The finest cymbal making metal in the industry . Crazy how people buy into that... there's so much more to cymbals than just what they are made of.

Haha exactly, you have to look past that crap.

The only xs20 that are gongy are the rock models. The rest sound pretty good for the price. The china is actually really nice

And i decided to make a thread about it asking for fun did i? thats why i am asking. i even said im looking for soundclips. but i wanted some general opinions and the people who dont spend there lives making uneccesary comments for no reason have been kind enough to answer. and yes you can often tell by looking at a cymbal what it is going to sound like.

thank you to everyone for there nice replies
