arn't alembics like 100's just for the pup's?

The Brad

Yeah, but I couldn't think of any other brand with a tree. Unless they were EMG and he thought the pinhead was a tree, but that's only on the box.

MF (Michael Fournelle) Guitars is a custom shop based in Quebec. Did you buy the bass used? If so, the pickup would have been chosen by the original buyer and it would be virtually impossible for us to tell you anything about it, sight unseen, over the internet.

Okay, MM simply refers to the shape of the casing, not the winding. If you want an MM pup, make sure its the exact same shape (the casing size and the ear size and position as well).

Alembics aren't $100 for pups, they are $800 for pups.

Chris: When will the bass be ready?

Chris: When will the bass be ready?

The same setbacks are still kicking my ***, but now there's some new ones. The neck inserts STILL haven't arrived. Also, remember how I was having problems getting the tone circuit to work the way I wanted? Well, I decided since it was such a simple circuit but I couldn't get it to work properly I would have my local shop do it. They said it would be no problem, took the bass, took the pickups, took the tone circuit components, and proceeded to lose the pickups. Now I'm waiting for them to order me new pickups and THEN finish the tone circuit. What a humongous pain in the ***.

I'm not even taking bets as to when this thing will be finished

You'd better keep your mouth shut Lisa, you have no idea how deep this thing goes. Just watch out for yourself since you are the one member of MX that knows ALL the details of this bass other than myself.

Yes as a matter of fact I do. I won't go into details to avoid the complete and total hijacking of this thread.

Musicman, as on a Stingray. A rather famous brand characterized by their tone, credited to (at the time a new pickup) their pick-ups and electronics.

If he didn't want to remake the same thread, it's fine by me. Plus with the earlier responces it weeds out some choices.

Any chance the pups are custom to the luthier?
