The Change Of State
Hey all. I've put my music on before from my band and have had a lot of mixed opinions. On our best days we sound good.. sometimes it just doesn't work.

Anyway.. to the music.

The ones i would appreciate criticism on mostly are:-
- Childhood Memories (Do It)
- Seven Nation Army
- Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo

The others.. make comments but they are just our roughest recordings. I am not in any way saying these are brill recordings. But i would just like some constructive criticism :)

Oh and here are two videos of us playing ;). Our singer is holding the cam on each so no vox.

not too bad.
basically the drummer needs to be a lot more aggressive when playing, all the drumming sounds weak.

the guitar in californication isn't distorted, sounds dodgy with the distortion...
i couldn't personally hear the out of tune guitar... just the odd dud/misplaced note...

on californication the rhythm changes (occasionally speeds up/ slows down)so maybe you should work on your timing somemore...

i would agree with the snak 3 guy... foxtrot uniform charlie kilo is def the best of the 4... it's ashame there was no vocals to go with it...

hope that helps some

just heard californication. well i think it needs a lot of improvement. i myself have played that song lived 3 times with my band. to get it to sound right with out a rythm guitar just do a strumming pattern in the chorus and pre chorus. also in the solo, the guitar is goign to slow either tht or the drums speed up.

hope it helps a bit

Okay nice. Our recordings were on the day when we were without our rythmn guitarist, and the first time we had practiced californication together. But the next day the drummers laptop didn't work so we couldnt record californication with the rythmn guitarist.

Thanks for the comments though, and I have told my guitarists to play with clean tone rather than the lead/distorted tones.

Thanks again, more comments appreciated.

What do you think of childhood memories?

Hmm, you still haven't fired your singer...

The guitar playing sounds good, but you're drummer plays Californication really bad. Foxtrot Unoform Charlie Kilo sounds quite good though.

Why would we fire our singer?

Why would we fire our singer?

Because he isn't even singing. He is just talking and it doesn't sound so great.

Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo would have sounded way better with vocals, but after listening to 7 Nation Army, I don't think either the drumming nor the vocals save it.

The drumming in Californication is very dodgy, and he needs to learn coordination. The bass sounds good, but the vocals are horrible.

BTW, tell your drummer to use cymbals instead of trash can lids.

instrumentals are pretty good, but the vocals need maaaaad work. sounds like the singer is ashamed of his voice so he whispers into the mic.

Poor recording quality. I am sure with a better setup it would sound alright. It seems kind of fun. Bass drum has horrible tone, but there probably isnt much you can do without improving equipment.
