I have a grand total of ONE jungle song (that being Goldie- Dragonfly). Anything I should check out? Any bands that play a similar style?
Same goes for triphop. I have a few Massive Attack and Portishead, but I'd like to hear some reccomendations, particularly more bands in the vein of Portishead.

The only trip-hop that I can recommend is Massive Attack's Mezzanine, DJ Shadow's Preemptive Strike, and Bjork's Homogenic, simply because that's all I've got.
I feel that it's also worth mentioning that the Gorillaz have a few songs that sound like trip-hop, but overall, most of theirs aren't, so I wouldn't count the band's work as a whole as trip-hop. (I don't know if that made any sense, but if it did, cheers).

Same stuff I would reccomend, sadly. :p I'll check out the bjork, though.
I think I might just find an amazing drummer and start a jungle band. We'd be the first of our kind, probably.

London Elektricity Do something like that with Drummer vs DJ nights with Chris Polglase (AKA The Jungle Drummer) hes one of may favourite Drummers
For Trip hop i reccommend most of those named by other people aswell as
STS9
Lovage
Sneaker Pimps
U.N.K.L.E (basically DJ shadow)
Boards of canada (though apparently they are known as intelligent dance music, wtf?)
For JUngle/DnB:
Aphrodite
Aphex twin
Pendulum
London Elektricity
SquarePusher
DJ hype
Shy FX

For Trip-Hop, try Fagan. They have songs available at their website.

I HIGHLY recommend getting DJ Shadow's live album.

I like everything (yeah, two songs) I've heard by Fagan. Good band.
There's another Australian trip-hop ish band that I learned about from the same source, and whose name I consistently forget. It's some combination of the words Hot, Glove, Mud, Elephant and Rubber.

Hot Rubber Glove? Who happen to have a song entitled Mud Elephant. I think this is the band bluey talks about anyway.

Yeah, that's the one. I think my persistent and recurring confusion is the result of a subconscious desire for the band to be called Hot Rubber Elephant.

It's ok. I do exactly the same thing. I find the thought of a band with that name hilarious.

Cibo Matto and Mu:cool:
Etro Anime are a quality group who never seem to get mentioned by anyone except me.
Poe is worth looking into too.

I think I'm gonna look into buying Endtroducting some time in the near future. Massive Attack really turned me on to the whole trip hop scene with Mezzanine. :p

Mezzanine is like prog trip-hop.I haven't heard anything trip-hop that sounds similliar to it so be aware of that.

Poe is worth looking into too.
I heard a song she featured in, Conjure One - either Sleep or Center Of The Sun.. I forget. Anyway, if Conjure One or Poe's songs are similar to the two mentioned, they would be a very good choice for the Trip Hop.
Hot Rubber Glove are more dub/funk/ska, but a few songs are very calming. Moonbase is a good one if you want Jungle-ish sound, but its more drum'n'bass. Close enough. http://www.mp3.com.au/artist.asp?id=305
and yes, Fagan - Dante, Slight Return and Beautiful Mundane are awsome.

There is so many types of great electronic music out there. It's such a shame that Trance is the most played.
Anyway, this is my fave stuff, don't be put off by the look of the Drum And Bass album cover, loads of the best songs are on this album.
Venetian Snares is definitely worth checking out if you're into Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, etc.
FSOL takes a while to get into, the latest album is like something by Pink Floyd or something, great to chill out or fall asleep to.
Drum and Bass Essentials (mixed by DJ Hype)
Venetian Snares - The album with the chocolate wheelchair (breakcore, experimental jungle)
Future Sound of London - ISDN, The Amorphous Androgynous
Unkle - Psyience Fiction, Never Never Land

Yeah, great value too. 3 CDs with about 50 tracks on. You'll like The Prodigy Smack My Bitch Up remix and it has stuff by Pendulum and the song Tarantula. There's really not a lot of dodgy songs on it trust me, go into HMV and listen to a bit on the headphones. That's how I decided.
Have you been to any D&B nights? There's a few nights which happen in Liverpool but it's quite rare.
