Alright, i can get this for £130 and wondered what you guys thought of it as a main hi-hat stand.

The main reason im considering it is because of the double bass setup i'll be using. I dont like the way hat stands clamp to the bass drum and ive never really felt comfortable playing like that.

as long as you hve somewhere to clamp it to i think it should be fine. it probably wont be quite as smooth as a normal hihats stand though.

Just gotta make sure it comes with a clamp first :p I love having my hats on the right side of my kit so i might keep em there

Its probably the best Remote hat system. It even feels smoother than the DW 9000

Same old ludwig with new bits :)

Can someone explain what each of the black, blue, red and white cams does? I like the red one best so far :D

oh yea, i forgot about all of those extra cams. I have the non remote version of your stand by the way. they are supposed to change the feel of the whole thing but i dont notice much of a difference actually. i've got the blue one on at the moment

yeah it has the same cam system as the Elim. Most people like the red. Its the offset one (like the cam on a Powerglide IC).

Post pics man. I'm hella jealous

Looks good to me... Quality remote stand.

If you compared to a normal hat stand, such as an eliminator you'd find that the hat response wouldn't be as good.

That said its still one of the best remote hat systems out there.

I hate the feel of the red cams, the black cams have the best response IMO, i can feel the pedal move throughout the entire stroke.

Pics of it here (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=407874)

Actually i found it to feel nicer then the normal eliminator hats

What do you have against the clamp? It's only 30 bucks works like a charm too.

Its simply because its on the left of my kit :) Hence the remote hats being on the right side, plus i dont like the idea that if my bass drum slips, it takes my hats with it :)

And god said "Let there be Berber Carpet scraps" and there were scraps, and they did hold spurs in place amazingly well, and god looked down on the creation, and, satisfied, said it was good.

Way off topic but Double Bass Jim, I just looked at your profile and we were both born on October 6! (Except I was 10 / 6/ 89) I 've never met anyone else with the same b-day as me...
