I got this bass second or third hand, there wasn't a complete history of ownership with it.Claims that it was owned by Geezer Butler go unbelieved by me.
Features:5/5
It is a neck thru construction, made of French maple and carbon fibre, so there is no truss rod. The back of the neck also looks absolutley awesome. It's also very thin compared to some, which makes it feel very light in your hands.
It has active circuitry, one volume, two tone controls, and also a pickup selector switch, though there isn't a separate volume control for the pickups to do the Tom Morello thing with!
It has 21 frets, no fret inlays and a plain black fingerboard which I think is ebony? The action on it is superb, quite low while remaining nice and tight.
Sound: 5/5
This is the best sounding bass I've ever played. It has a huge tonal range, from very thick and bassy to very hollow and trebly, and everything in between. And that's before I play about with the amp settings. It sounds great for whichever style Im playing, funk, jazz, metal, or rock. Different techniques also sound great, fingerstyle, pop 'n' slap, tapping. It's very clear no matter what you do on it.
Overall 5/5
The only problems Ive ever had with this bass have been some circuitry issues, and thats because its been a bit abused before it came into my possession. It cost me about £700 from Sound Control, and it was a one off, Ive not seen another one of these up for sale anywhere. To be fair, this bass was far too good for me when I bought it, but since I play pretty much all the time for three years I've grown into it!
