What would be a good second bass for me, i've started out with a Ibanez GRS200 but i don't want another ibanez (not that they're bad or anythin). I play mainly jazz, rock and heavy metal and i do a lot of slapping. Any suggestions would be good, thanks RP

Hmm..
Theres alot of basses you could have that can do all those styles, but to narrow it down, whats your budget ? What style basses do you like ?

My budget is approximately £300. My influences are metallica, RHCP, Trivium, Foo Fighters and any jazz stuff. I dont like too heavy basses but apart from that i'm not bothered aboutits looks, i'd like a nice warm bass tone which will be able to handle whatever i can do to it

I'm inclining to say a Fender Jazz (MIM), they're quite versatile. You should be able to get one for £350 new.

Yamaha RBX375's are a good deal. I have the RBX775 (a higher model) and it's superb.
You can get one new for around £250. They're active as well.

Don't buy a second bass that's only going to bring you one level up.
Say that your GSR is 2 out of 5, you don't want to buy a bass that's 3 out of 5. That's almost useless and you can better save your money then :thumb:
Or you must really dislike the GSR and need a new bass..
