So, my band and I have been trying to play some Metallica songs lately but we cant get the vocals to sound like Hetfield, not even close, really. I've been working on singing for a while now and can do all sorts of screams and such, but Hetfield's voice seems to be so unique that its nearly impossible to get his deep raspiness, nor am I able to find anyone else that can.

Anyone have any tips on getting his voice or any sound clips of yourself singing like him that I can analyze? I would appreciate it, my band really wants these songs to sound good.

Just don't try to sound like James Hetfield. Just use your own voice.

hehe...yea cali...

deep raspiness, as in low? Cause james doesnt strike me as low voice. I can do him pretty good. He sings right in the middle usually it seems to me. No more rasp than anyone else I've heard. But you do need to be able to isolate and stay relaxed. CHeck out the voicehelp hotline.
