I bought Half Life2 yesterday and my PC meets the specifications on the box. When I installed it and tried to run it it says I didn't meet the minimum specifications and something about SIS 760 video card. This (http://g.1asphost.com/Highamster/help.JPG) is the error I get.
The game runs fine but it randomly make my computer restart. Half Life: Source which came with it does it at the exact same point everytime so I'm guessing I need a new video or graphics card whatever it is. So any recomendations on one thats not to expensive and will be good to play released games and future ones for awhile?

I scanned my computer for virus's and spyware/adware after I got that error a couple of times. Nothings found and the programs are all up to date.

when you say the programs are up to date do you also mean your graphics card drivers are up to date?

This happens with my brothers computer when he plays Dawn of War (and only when he plays that particular game), his PC will randomly restart when he's playing. He got a new graphics card yet it still does it and we I have no idea why. The people at the computer fixing place didn't know how to fix it either.
Anyone who can help me fix that problem gets rep ++
As for your problem, it sounds as though a new graphincs card might fix it.

Ive recently had a problem with my pc playing battlefield 2, the game wont load properly and crashed randomly, i swapped parts around and the only conclusion i could come is that is the motherboard that is either unsupportes/just doesnt work

Nope, By up to date I mean my spyware stuff. Is the SIS 760 my graphics card? I don't really understand that part of computers much at all.

Oh ok, I'll wait this out for awhile before I go buying anything.

I'm just running the one that came with it. I bought this PC about 2months ago so for about £500 new and everything seems fine so far. Is their any way to find out within XP? If not where about on the board will it be?

Your first course of action is update your display drivers. go to control panel, system, hardware, device manager. Then click on display adapter and that will tell you what graphics card you have. Go to the website and download the updated drivers.

This (http://www.guru3d.com/) Website has a good selection of the latest tweaked video drivers, just find the make of your card

OK, my brothers PC seems to be fixed now that he's playing it on a different monitor, normally it would reboot once every 5-10 minutes, and he's using the other PC monitor and has been playing it for 3 hours now perfectly. :-/
I'm still not sure what was wrong with it.
Rep + to Jim Hull for trying to help me and threadstarter.

I would try newer/different drivers.
