I remember seeing a thread or two about Mew a long while ago, and was wondering if most of those people digging Mew back then, are enjoying their new album?
In my oh so humble opinion, it's absolutely amazing

It's fairly good, it's got some killer sections in it, whilst other parts really drag.

I enjoy it alot, though 3rdplanet is right, it does drag in some areas. But the tracks that don't are killer. "Why Are You Looking So Grave?" (feat. J. Mascis) and "Apocalypso" are especially killer.

The songs that drag, really don't bother me much for some reason.... When listening to it in one sitting I really don't end up getting bored..
But I agree, the tracks that don't drag are absolutely amazing compared to the ones that do.. I'm really digging "The Seething Rain Weeps for You" at the moment
The new album is pretty good, But I still prefer Frengers =\

I've heard about these guys so much but I've never really checked out their music.

Mew are one of my favorite bands, and their new album is fantastic. It flows so well, and it retains evrything that made Frengers so good. "The Zookeper's Boy" is a ****ing unbelievable song.
I'm undecided as to whether or not its better than Frengers, but they're both two awsome albums.
I've seen 'em described as like a cross between Sigur Ros and My Bloody Valentine, which is quite unaccurate IMO. But if something like Loveless by My Bloody Valentine can get 5/5 on allmusic, then this album is MORE than worthy of such a rating, since Mew absolutely own MBV.
And I like the songs where J.Mascis of Dinosaur Jr does some vocals. All in all, great stuff.

Mew and the Glass Handed Kites are so much better than Frengers.
It's much more like their music before Frengers. Reffering to "A Triumph For Man" and "Half The World Is Watching Me"
Really enjoy all the songs on the album but especially "The Zookeeper's Boy", "An Envoy To The Open Fields" and "White Lips Kissed".
Great album. A real masterpiece.
