well that $1 tom came in tuesday. decent wrap, whatnot heads, and usable hardware. i even tore off ever so slight a piece of the first ply because the glue was so cheap (the vent came out!), and this thing was obviously put together for a quick buck.
thats not my qualm, becuz i was gonna restore/refinish it. what REALLY stirred my noodle was as i layed it down to my 12x9 tom i noticed it was taller than it.
so im contacting the seller. i have a good history with this seller, so it will probably be fixed. im just kind of peeved now.
on a related note, my cb700 14x10 tom (another cheap ebay find) that must be a million years old..is impervious to my removing the wrap! the glue looks almost green, and mounting hole is atrocious. ill post pics in the morning. it looks obvious that someone replaced the mount, which was diamond in shape (the imprint is still on the wrap ) with a square one. i cant get the wrap off!!!1 argh

Hey, for $1, how can you complain? Would you not have bought it had you known it was 12x10?
10-27-2005, 09:54 AM

Contact that seller though.

haha...you get money off a dollar:lol: (assuming the next one is $1 too) why not just GIVE it to you...actually...they should GIVE YOU money:lol:

$1 is definitely worth even the hardware, **** the shell

Do you pay tax on American ebay? Like is your state's sales tax added to the final sale value?
10-27-2005, 03:36 PM
So what? One inch (I'm asuming it's 12" x 10") isn't a big deal, especially if you got it for $1.
10-27-2005, 03:36 PM
^^ no, but the shipping is what kills it
10-27-2005, 03:59 PM
$20.00 shipping on a $1.00 tom. Yeah, they are making tehre $$ off the shipping. You could ship that thing for like $5.00.

tom i noticed it was taller than it.
Gah!! Too many pronouns!
Anyway, doesn't sound like to big of a deal. 1 inch shouldn't make too much of a difference. Good luck on the refinish.
10-27-2005, 05:31 PM
im gonna refinish it, but its not 1 inch difference, and its not gonna go with my regular kit :p
10x8 and 10x10 is a world of difference to me.
10-27-2005, 05:36 PM
Well, if anything, it'll be good refinishing practice.
10-27-2005, 05:40 PM
Post pics refinishing step by step if you can like BB
10-27-2005, 05:52 PM
hmm, maybe. id hate to get yelled at for bumping my last one which was a good week ago

they solved the problem, at no cost to me!

im considering refinishing the shell and maybe giving it to my friend who just had a baby (hes my bassist, and he gets peaved whenever i tell him his daughter will grow up to be a drummer :D)
i could raffle it off to MX d&p but i dont think after that guy osiris, that there is very much trust left. we'll see though, my exams take priority, but iv started to sand the shell already.
