I havent seen one of these for a while. This isnt a wish list, this is an actual plan to purchase list. Its all in fun and we can all advise each other on some of the gear. Be prepared to own up to what you say your going to buy in this thread! Pics within 6 months! My only concern is the Sonor snare, those are HARD to find.

I plan to buy in the next 6 months.

Pearl Rhythm Traveler Kit (400 bucks)
Roland Hand Sonic *used* (600 bucks)
Some kind of dynamic electronic pads. (No idea)
Pop-Corn snare (200)
Sonor HLD-540 snare (2000)

ill sell it as 2 seperate 3 piece shell pack kits w/o a snare.

6 months hmmm, I'll probally end up buying a pair of sticks. I'd buy a new pedal and hihat stand if I can get the money together. Then it's saving for a kit here on in.

Dw 5000AD3 $186.94 or maybe Iron cobra Power glide $139.05
Dw 5000TD $210.35
Ya also probally a pork pie. Damn I'm going to have to chose two out of thouse three. I'll try for all three but probally just get the pedal and the throne.

Some sort of stave snare, probably 13x7.. planning on wood hoops and a bubinga or zebrawood shell.
Either (or both!) 14x5 Ultracast/14x6.5 Black Panther hand hammered brass
20" Paiste sig thin china
DW 5000 hat stand.. never actually had a good hat stand, really need to treat myself to one
A GOOD THRONE. rofl I'm still using this POS stool :/

There's a bunch of other crap I told myself I'd buy (14" K custom fast crash.. 10" Dark energy splash.. some 12/14" china) but the above stuff is stuff I neeeed! My china trash has a crack that's getting pretty bad, my hat stand is mediocre, my "throne" isn't a throne.

And who doesn't love snares?! :D

I have a few times Rich don't worry. I've gigged both the 14" and 13" and i like the fundamental pitch of the 13" better, but both have a great balance of what i'm after.. I'll probably get the matching K bottom off ebay as well to mix-n-match..

I plan to :
EITHER

Save my money for snare hardware and heads for the snare

Might have to spend some money on some wood.
(I gave up on the acrylic shell making, got very hard  Dad's getting a new lathe ( VB36 Master Bowl-turner :naughty: ) So we are going to make some stave shells and make snares from them)

OR

Use my money now and hope for more for christmas.

Pearl Elimnator or DW5000 or Iron Cobra (Single)
Cowbell or jamblock and mount for my other pedal so I can foot operate it.

Probably gonna end up spending £160 on each one

Both should happen within next 6 months, 1 before and one after Christmas

Also at Christmas I may be getting some peace Octos (Does anybody know if the make paragon lugged ones? Or just the DNA ones?)

-Snare stand, probably a DW to match my DW hihat stand and kick pedal.

my wishlist:

sonor 3005's by february at the latest.

14" hhx groove hats by/around christmas.

13X3.5" mapex premium steel snare by/around christmas.

those are the 3 i'm putting money aside for, other than that, little purchases here and there won't hurt. i'd like to get myself a few splashes and a china or two, but those will just be impulse buys.

and, i'll add that i'm looking for some old, beat up drums on ebay and in pawn shops. some that i can buy for cheap, and take some time to refinish them, i'd like to start getting into that.

I'm thinking about either Mapex or Tama Starclassic Performers (fusion, if I can find it). Considering Sonor too.

Things to buy... wauw...

I think I'm pretty much set for the time being :D
Got a bunch of cymbals, a bunch of toms, 2 bassdrums, a nice and sexy snare and a cool piccolo... Converted my old equipment into fun stuff like timbale's etc. Having a bunch of hardware also, I'm practically playing a different setup after every gig at the moment. Couldn't imagine what I need more at the moment.

So all my money (that I'm not saving to afford my own place soon) is going to the studio I'm trying to build in the rehearsel room.

Gonna get my drum mics later this week probably (Finnaly!! YAY! :D )
Then I just need to buy 2 DI's (one for bass and one for keyboards), a bunch of SM57's for guitars, an SM58 or two for vocals, a good 16 input snake and then I'm pretty much set!

I have my mixer, audio card and studio monitors allready so...

I'm guessing (read: hoping) to have all my equipment within the next 2-3 months.

Gonna be a lot of fun!! :thumb:

To those interested, these are the mics I will be picking up this week (they will probably be in by wednesday or thursday. I ordered them last week)

Remote Hi Hat Stand (not sure what type yet, any recommendations?) or just an X-Hat stand if I can't afford the remote.

Hopefully I'll be able to get all this stuff. I don't think I'll be getting any of it for christmas unless I come into some money by then. My wife wants a laptop so I'm just taking the money I was going to spend on myself and the money my parents give us for christmas and using it to buy that, then I have to get presents for my son and all the family and stuff, so I doubt I'll have any left over for me, but we'll see. Aww I feel special. :)

Well, here's a useful page that you may have seen before.
http://www.peelerdrumcenter.com/drumsets_by_yamaha.htm

You seem to like sparkles so I'll start with those. I never liked apple sparkle fade much. I'm not digging the black sparkle ones either, but I imagine they do look nicer in person (darker black would help--it looks rather washed out in the photo) and with gold hardware, black sparkle fade/sunburst would look KILLER. Blue sparkle sunburst/fade are REAL nice too.

For lacquers I actually like that blue marble for some reason. The pink/purple/blue fade too. Though I still would advise against it because if it's on more than one drum it might just look kitschy as hell. I do like the green fade and amber fade lacquers, they're very nice, and my favorite lacquer is definitely sea blue fade.

So there you go. :) Let me know what you end up getting, if you do.

But maybe the award for most unrealistic... :p. I plan on getting a DW 6 piece, but it will be a sparkle lacquer, not a finish ply. I still say your kit will be more than 6 grand, unless that's American money. My DW's will cost me about 6 grand for the 6 drums alone.

why is it unrealistic? i may have planned the whole of next year so that i can earn enough money to buy my dream kit, and by 'i may have' i mean i have. it is american money exept im living in south africa. im actually still waiting on a quote for the custom drums.

Unless they're Ken ;). Ken has been the only drummer on this forum that has consistently made huge plans for his kit and followed through with them quickly. I'm not trying to offend you, I'm just saying when I see posts like that, most of the time I think that the poster often doesn't realize their other expenses, etc. We all make plans, but often things get in the way (there are a ton of things, from just going out, to girlfriends/boyfriends, to bills, etc), so sometimes it takes longer. I said "maybe" unrealistic, I didn't mean much by it ;).

Well I really am ordering my Pearl Masters within these next months or so because I've been planning this for months now, and have been putting money away, and have almost enough as it is.

As of yesterday, I am the proud owner of:

This AKG mic set (http://www.musik-produktiv.de/shop2/shop04.asp/sid/!06082002/artnr/2702031)

The studio setup is getting within reach now!

Stuff already present:
- drum mic set
- 24 track mixer, analog (16 xlr, 8 mono)
- 16 i/o soundcard
- active studio monitors

Last items on the menu:
- 16-in/4-out stagebox
- A couple of sm57's (one for the snare and 1 or 2 for guitars)
- 2x Behringer DI's (keyboards and bassguitar)
- one or two sm58 for vocals
- a bunch of xlr cables

And then I'm fully set, hahaha. All in all, I guess I still have another 400-500€ of purchases to do. When I have everything, it will be set up in the rehearsel room and it will pretty much stay there like that, so I just have to enter, press "power on", press "record" and start playing! w00t! :p

A bigger stick bag, maybe some Xylophone Mallets....who knows, maybe a tambourine, bass drum mallet? We'll just see where it goes from there, but at the moment I may most likely need a bigger stick bag and some Xylo Mallets :thumb:
