ok heres a game we can play if you have free time and you are bored. right there are 3 catergries for this game.

500 or $800

1000 or $1600

2000 or $3200

You may enter in all 3 if you like. The idea is to find the best kit with cymbals, sticks, head etc that you can for the price range you enter.
kitbuilder (http://www.dwdrums.com/kitbuilder/)

This link will help you. When you are done post up your kit with kitbuilder and give all the specs of the kit...

In a week the voting will begin for best kit within each price range.

One rule Ebay is not included unless its a buy now price!
also post up the prices of each item and the total.

hopefully this will also help people who ask what they should buy within a certain budget on the forums. if anyone has anything to add post it and i will add it in...cheers.:thumb:

Edit: Removed because I'm stupid .... :P

Edit: ****ing **** *** browser, ate my inputted text THREE ****ing times! .... anyways, for the fourth time:

Edit: ... ok so this is the medium class :

1. Mapex M Birch 5 Piece Standard - 770$ (at music123.com)
2. Mapex Black Panther Premium Steel Snare 14x6.5" - 170$ (at massmusic.net)
3. Pearl Powershifter Double Pedal - 150$ (at music123.com)

I Recently discovered that PST 5 is a very decent cymbal line for the price, so I'd choose several of those cymbals:

4. Paiste PST 5 22" Rock Ride - 97$ (at music123.com)
5. Paiste PST 5 14" Rock Hi hats - 99$ (at music123.com)
6. Paiste PST 5 16" Thin Crash - 64$ (at music123.com)
-----
total of 1350$ - still got some $$ to spend ... How about some Remo Pinstripes for those toms, a powerstroke 3 for the kick and a CS batter for the snare?? - And get yourself a pair of Vic Firth 5A's to go with that

How much is that in real money???? ... no no.. I Kid :p (I'm not even american  )

Anyway, for all you Yanks out there:
500-800 pounds ~ 890$-1420$ USD
1000-1600 pounds ~ 1770$-2840$ USD
2000-3200 pounds ~ 3550$-5680$ USD

Edit: ****ing **** *** browser, ate my inputted text THREE ****ing times! .... anyways, for the fourth time:

The Low End: (500-800)

1. Mapex M Birch 5 Piece Standard - 770$ (at music123.com)
2. Mapex Black Panther Premium Steel Snare 14x6.5" - 170$ (at massmusic.net)

I think you read it wrong...those were the price in pounds then converted to dollars...so it was 500 pounds OR (notice the or) $800...not 500 to 800 pounds. So your kit would go in the second category.

Well, I'd sure as hell sell my kit for 500 quid, seeing as it's worth about 200.

Entering the 500 pounds, 800 dollar category is:
CB 2005 5 piece drumkit, which costs 300 dollars, (drumnetwork.com) free throne and sticks. You then proceed to take one of the two cymbals of the hi-hat and throw it around a park, making sure it gets wacked proper good. You then have the most amazingly trashy (not as in bad, but as in shivers) sounding china cymbal, and you could keep the other hi-hat cymbal as a crash, but I don't recommend doing so.

Buy either Paiste PST 5 14" Rock Hi hats - 99$ (at music123.com) or UFIP primo series hi hats (100 euros= about 100 dollars) at wherever I bought them in Spain.
Paiste 802 crash/ride. £59.99 (I love other people's research)
Stands (from WeMakeBadStands) for the new ride and china, £40 (60$)
Splash and stand if you want, £40 (again, shop in Spain, although I'm quite sure you can get those prices anywhere)

That's 620 dollars so far.
So we could add:
Mapex Black Panther Premium Steel Snare 14x6.5" - 170$ (at massmusic.net) (love, simply love, other people's research)
or: Remo pinstripe heads for all the drumses (80$) and 100$ to either wipe your bum with, have handy in case something breaks, or to get drum lessons and have a good drummer to add to your cheap and amazing drumkit.

Enjoy le kit.

I would but I own the cymbals that I won't change for a while unless I win the lottery and go all out on sigs the cymbals I have now will stay for a long time. I have a mix of pro level hardware so that doesn't need replacing. That kit, and snare are the only thing I want, and need (my kit sucks so bad).
