It's just a switch that basically shuts off your guitar.

Its to create a stutter effect when switched back n forth quickly or simply to cut out any output on your guitar when your not playing such as between songs :thumb:

It's a tool really for live shows. Pretty much the killswitch shuts off your guitar just so that it doesn't hum etc between songs. It can be used as stated above to create a cool stuttering sound. Also if you're having a non-guitar section in a song e.g. a keyboard section the killswitch is useful to shut out feedback etc.

If you want a type of killswitch but don't want to install anything on your guitar, have a look at the Planet Waves Circuit Breaker cables. Really good cables and they are gaurenteed for life.

Buckethead's real name is Brian Carroll.

Oh rite. thanks man. He was playin with Primus before and Larry wasnt there so I jumped to that conclusion because Primus' old drummer is drumming on the new GNR album.

you can also make a kill switch without installing anything on a les paul or other guitar with a 3-way toggle switch. just turn the volume on one of your pickups off and switch as you please. this works best on epiphones with slightly sloppy wiring
