well i emailed them about it when i first started drumming and they said June 2003. Better late than never though...

http://www.paiste.com they now have cymbal soundclips for all lines, every crash has both a crash sound ("edge") as well as a glissando ("roll"). the rides have edge, bow, bell, and a lil' performance. the hats have "chick" "open" "closed" and "performance" as well. the splashes have an edge and a "choke" which i think is kinda cool. the chinas are treated as crashes.

They say paiste's cymbals are the most consistent around? Well the 18" sig power crash and the 18" sig full crash sound nearly identical to mine, that's for sure...

...note some of the "noiseworks" files weren't working for me.

Heh, but get a load of the lower lines. Some of they actually sound quite decent, and you know those brass cymbals sound like trash in person. Just a warning, online clips are no substitute for the real thing.

Mine sound the same as the website...make sure you clean your cymbals of all the grime and dust before you compare them to the brand spankin' new cymbals.

Anyone else TOTALLY DIGGIN' the Gaint Beats MP3 clips???... Now those are my kinda o' cymbals...The Trads sound great for jazz and the likes as well.

Not quite. After listening to those clips, I realized that I will never buy a set of hi-hats bigger than 13". And especially not the giant beats.

The 20" sig dry and the 17" 2oo2 crash both sound almost exactly the same as mine. I'd been waiting a while for them to get clips up too.

i've only got one paiste cymbal - an 8" signature splash, and the clip on the site sounds very accurate indeed.

I tried the Signature Dark Energy mark 1 cymbals at LIDC and they really do sound amazing, and they sound like the sound clips too. But nothing compares to hearing the cymbals in person of course. To bad there mad expensive. lol

Yeah, I really love the 16" DE crash... they really need to make DE chinas, I know there was a guy who has an artist page on Paiste's site had prototype DE chinas listed in his setup along with splashes before they released those.

The paiste 101s on that site have a different logo to the paiste 101 ride I have,
but do they still sound the same?

Took some paiste cymbal cleaner and sealer to my crashes today. They actually sound like them now. :)

those are very accurate clips. yes nothing beats a cymbal in person, but if you cant get them near you, those clips should help a ton. as i expected, the 8" DE splash is still sexy as ever, as are the 2oo2 crunch hats (my next cymbal purchace)

After hearing some of the clips (didn't get tiem time to check all of them out) I'd have to say that I'm taken. Too bad it will take me a good 4 years to replace all my Zildjians with them, so I think I'lljust keep dreaming.
