If I downtuned my guitar 3 semi-tones could I then rename the chords by moving the name down 3 semi-tones?
The C chord would become... A# / Bb?
Or is that not how it works? :P

So you've tuned every string down 3 semi-tones?
Then if you play what would normally be a C chord in normal tuning, then it would be an A (A is 3 semi-tones less than C, remember there is no B#!)

From C, going down a semi tone would take it to B, then another semi tone would be A# then another semi tone would be A.

Yeah, I'm an idiot I counted C to itself as a semitone...
I meant C chord would become... A chord.
Would that work?

but if you tabbed it out you would probably call it a C chord anyway to avoid confusion . . . and if you tune that low you usually use an open tuning, like open c
