Ive been playing for about 2 years, but have never learned what the "action" on the guitar means. I know i may sound stupid but I would really like to know.

Also, does anybody know how to lower down pickups, or raise up the strings. My pickups are way to high and I cannot get any pinch harmonics off because my finger hits the pickup before the string, if that made any sense. If somebody knows what im talking about, could you please tell me, i would greatly appreciate it.

theres screws on the sides of the pickups, mess with them, right=down.

Action is the height of the strings. To raise the action just means higher the strings either by the bridge, which will lift them all, or by individual saddles like on a strat, which will allow you to raise each string.

Lowering the pickups will just make your sound quieter by a tiny amount because they're not as close to the vibrating strings, you probably won't even be able to tell the difference unless you lower them right into the body which isn't advisable.
