So I bought Counterstrike 1 the other day and brought it home eager to install it. So I put the CD in the CD drive, close the drive and the cd icon appears next to the cursor then goes. I clicked on 'My Computer' and it doesnt show i nthe CD drive.

I tried this several times, rebooting my computer too. I then looked at the underside of the CD and it had a few scratches so I figure that is the reason for it not being recognized but I took it back, got a replacement and its back to square one with it not being recognizable.

Requirements:
Windows 98/2000/ME/XP

Processor 500 Mhz

Direct X 6.0 Sounds Card

96MB RAM

500MB free Hard Drive space

CD-DVD 8 Speed

Video Card 16 MB

Take it back again, 3rd time lucky.

But seroiously...erm....does it do this with all game cd's?

Download Steam here (http://steampowered.com/?area=getsteamnow) and make an account, this program is needed to play CS. You can even download it from there if need be.

Dude, did you read his post?

The CD Drive should still show up regardless.

Other CDs do work with the CD drive.

He said it doesn't show IN the cd-drive, never said the drive didn't show.

Again assuming you have broadband just use Steam, enter you key and download it.
