Absolutely amazing band from sweden I think. Amazing lyrics, amazing vocals, amazing hooks all around amazing band. The Shape of Punk to Come is one of the best albums of modern punk and Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent is just as good if not better.
They've broken up now which is sad, because I never saw them live. :(
Discuss one of my top three favorite bands of all time.

Of all the Refused song titles, THIS is the best you could come up with?
Anyway, best band of all time as everyone agrees.

I completely agree with Vince. Definately an awesome band, but not the best. I have a couple of their albums, and I like them a lot.

Yeah, I downloaded it a while ago, and it was awesome, but a couple tracks skipped on it, so I deleted the whole album a few days ago.
Edit - I'm just downloading it for the second time, that's all. I listened to it a lot, but decided I needed a better quality copy.

BETTER? Than "The Shape..." you just deemed your thread void of any credibility whatsoever. That album is the single greatest punk album ever written. Did anyone figure out that it's a concept album?

not dissin refused or anything (i think theyre one of the greatest bands to ever exist) but... if you guys heard some of their songs (not the ones with fast distinctive punk/hardcore beats... a la intro of pump up the brakes..). without the vocals... would you have a hard time classifying it as a hardcore piece? i mean in the 90's... some metal/ nu metal sounded like, or would have been mistaken as this...
i really just wanna know.. i love refused.... oh and why do other people think they ARE the GREATEST band of all time?

Refused bore me stupid. Hardcore = all the same. But at least Refused were influential I suppose, I mean about 98% of the scene at the moment seems to be carbon copied from these Swedes.

Pretty much all hardcore, or basically any genre that ends in "-core" or "-o" bores me stupid. Except for a few Black Flag songs and some Misfits stuff (some folks call some Danzig era songs hardcore, I dunno myself but I like them all the same). Oh, and Fugazi are alright too, but I hate Minor Threat more than I hate myself.
