Gear safety question

Ok first of all I am poor 16 year old student so my gear is by far from the best so now snide comments lol , I have just bought a Behringer Hell-babe wah , its my first wah pedal so I was wondering , is it safe to play a wah pedal through the distortion channel on an amp or is it better to have a wah then a distortion pedal(I am getting a Boss MetalZone) through the clean channel ?

No, it's not dangerous at all.

However, it will sound different depending where you put the wah (before distortion or after). It's just a matter of preference.

thanks for the reply , I have been using the pedal for about a day now , I play mostly metal and I have found the pedal useful for mainly solos , not as a wah but more of a volume and gain pedal to add an extra level to my tapping and sweeping .I am interested in the way Kirk Hammett uses his wah , any tips on how to make my use of the wah more effective ( I know this is straying off topic a bit)
