Well if you didn't watch Pr0n so much. JK

Shadows, can I have your e-mail. I want to send you my CoF review before I turn it in today. I'd like to see if I captured the album well. I'm not to used to reviewing metal.

Sure thing. Since I reviewed it way back I've listened to it a hell of a lot and noticed a great many things about the album, so I think I'll be able to add a little insight.

I don't know which thread to post this in, hopefully this is the right place.

I'm trying to find a review of William Shatner's Has Been on sputnik, I am 100% the review exists (but was done in the CD reviews subforum back on mx in late 04), and I'm 99% it was done by Bartender. But I can't find it. Has this been deleted, did it not transfer over, or am I just blind? Because I remember it being perhaps the best review of pre-sputnik reviews, and I wanted to comment on it.

Not pertaining to the arguement or anything, but I sadly have both Meteora and Hybrid Theory and in no way are Linkin Park a metal band. Nu-metal is as close to it as they will ever get. Really they are just rock music with rap in it and they aren't heavy either.

The 360 graphics are marginally better than current PS2 graphics. PS3 will dominate because of a superior processing system. Case closed. Oh ya, don't forgot that any game that's good on the XBox excluding Halo is not exclusive to the system and will also be available for the PS3. Also, the PS3 launch games are massively superior to the 360 launch games. Also any system that has the rights the the Metal Gear series, the Final Fantasy Series, and the Resident Evil series (excluding Metal Gear rereleases and Capcom's brief stint with Nintendo) is bound to be better than any other system.

I went to my nieces and her husbands today and he owns a PS2 and I asked him how many games he had and all he did was act embarassed to own PS2 because his bestfriend owns xbox and he says it just blows PS2 out of the water and then he went on comparing Ghost Recon 2 to the different systems and how better it is on xbox.

Continuation of the exclusive xbox titles (and games that are also only on pc)-Kingdom Under Fire, Star Wars KOTOR (love it), Halo series, and now officially Half-Life 2 woot!

I still can't believe how filler the song they did for Masters of Horror was. :( :(

I guess I could hold off possibly, besides if I turn a review of it in no matter how good it is you would still beat it.

Why does when I put- <3 in my comments in Sputnik that and the rest of the comment after it dissapear?

Also, some newer reviews comments never show up in the recent comments list. Zebra's Flaming Lips' review yesterday never did and Chillbee's Tsunami Bomb is the same way today.

Yeah, I had heard amazing things about that song, but I found it very "meh". Aside from the insane solo, I can see why they didn't include it on the album.

I'm usually not one to call dibs on reviews or tell people not to write them, but if you could just let me have this one, I would be forever greatful. It shouldn't be long before I get it anyway.

By the way, what Shadows Fall albums do you have?

I've wondered about that too. I use "<3" all the time, and that's how I noticed that the posts don't read at all past numbers. Very strange.

I bought the Masters of Horror album today and I must say it is a huge dissapointment. Even Shadows Fall wasn't good. Their original song for it sounded like something from Lamb of God. /sucks

KOTOR is legit and Metal Gear Solid is only easy if you play it on easy. Getting rid of radar in totally new areas with no first person mode is sort of brutal in the first MGS.

Playstation games > Xbox games

That is why the Playstation is better than the Xbox. I barely like video games, but I can easily spend half a day playing Final Fantasy or Metal Gear Solid. I certainly can't say the same for Halo. I hate Halo.

Or my parents just love me more than your parents love you. :p

My family isn't rich at all, a few years ago my dad was making less than $40,000 a year, and now it's around $55,000. My parents go all out for my brother and me I guess.

I didn't expect it at all. The SG was less than $150 though I'm sure, and I'm convinced it's used. It's in my lap currently. :) My dad got it at guitar center the same day I was there he said that he saw me with others when he was with a worker there buying it. I never saw him though. :-/

Top 15 cracked.

For some reason I can't access my user cp. :(

BTW, Shadows, you owe me for not reviewing the dvd.
Ugh, I also got the Papa Roach dvd, I'd never seen the video for Last Resort and now I never want to see it again.

Good lord that GZR album is weird. It's extremely heavy a lot, but the singer will sometimes rap when he screams.

Something else I found weird was that in the part where Terrence "Geezer" Butler thanked peoplel, he thanked, Snoop, Emm, Missy, Lil', along with some other rappers.

I do agree about the music issue (but I don't care), but tablatures. Something you print out on a stupid piece of paper. You never pay for them, like you pay for music. Sheet music for like piano, yeah, I can understand. But for guitar, bass, drum, etc. I just don't get!

The whole thing thing of mxtabs being shut down is so stupid, next their start filing lawsuits against people for playing a band's song. I hadn't been visiting it recently though, I submitted a lot of tabs in the past that were perfectly good and I start submitting others now and they get rejected for some reason. Then I see songs submitted that are incomplete or misspelt but since they're by a popular band everyone votes for it.

Remind me to NEVER see King Kong again. (spolierz)

Funny how Watts was dragged through an island jungle for an hour by a big ape and still looked picture perfect. Strange how every ethnic person died on the island, even the stereotypical wise black man! His name was Mr. Hayes, come on now, isn't that pushing it? And where were King Kong's nuts? How can a monkey be that hairy and violent and not have any bits n pieces? Let me guess, they misplaced Kong's wang on Adrien Brody's face. And one moment NYC is full of army guys and idiots running around but the next everyone's gone for about 10 minutes from one of the world's biggest cities so that Watts and Kong can stare at each awkwardly. How the hell does a woman not piss herself or something being carried up outside the biggest building in New York? Not even some vertigo?

Whoever thought it was a good movie was probably the same person who thought a movie with Paris Hilton would be watchable, or that Ben Affleck didn't need acting school.

:( I don't know if I will review for a while. I'm not in the mood lately, but I might do some nu-metal. :-/ Either The End of All Things To Come (3-3.5 out of 5), or 10,000 Fists (2.5-3 out of 5).

Or Fall Out Boy. :naughty:

So I'm guessing there won't be any Sputnik awards. :-/

If cheeto doesn't post the results to his thread, then we're going to run a new one in January on the anniversary of Sputnikmusic's inception. But, if he posts it, then that's cool with me, and I'll proceed to make my commemorative thread (more on this at a later date).

He'll get best reviewer for metal, and more than likely best review. Probably best reviewer over all as well.

This sucks, I started my 10,000 Fists review yesterday with intentions of rating the album 2.5-3, but now it's starting to grow on me, and I don't want to review it with a higher score when there are already 2 reviews giving it a high score. :-/

Time to see what the reviews of The End of all things to Come are like. Watch Jom have reviewed that as well.

Edit:  He didn't! I'm so reviewing it.

Coming in January at the one-year mark.

What I was going to do is put up a new nomination thread (if people are so inclined they can just copy/paste their old votes, but there is a possibility their thoughts could change).

After the nominees are up, I'll post the voting thread, which will be done via secret ballot; that is, people interested in voting will e-mail/IM/snail mail their votes to me. That way, it'll be more of a surprise (unless people openly talk about their votes in this thread, which would be disappointing).

In the very least, hopefully this will be fun.

I answer to a lot of names in real life, actually.

I could go into detail as to who calls me [insert name here], but it'd be boring.

So:

We have Jim, Jimbo, James, Jimmy, Jamie (this makes no sense to me, but hey, I have to appease these people), and the ever-popular expletive-laden nickname that's affectionately given to me by roommates whenever I'm not paying attention to them (among other things).

My band sometimes adresses me as "Krassist", could be translated as "starling bassist", just thrown into one word. If they want to make fun of me, they call me "Jenseli", "Jensilein" or "Jensi", coming from my name Jens.

I have gathered some names here on MX though: Dammy and Dam are the most popular. More obscure: Medrod (funny way Med and I were adressed at the same time), Damgod :)
