We played our last gig for this year yesterday. Damn, the last two gigs kinda sucked. I wish I could combine those two to one expirience. Yesterday was mostly fun to play (excpet for a big humming noise whcih came from our guitar amps. I told the guitarists, but I'm only the bassist. The sound guy had to come up front to tell them to turn down. When the concert was almost finished :mad: ), but the sound sucked. The gig before was not as much fun, but had excellent sound. :(

Funny thing is, the folks that organized the gig in Cologne a month ago described us as 'experimental rock group' in their bulletin for the evening. I would not class us as experimental though

My first show was at my school talent show last year. The band I was in played a medley of "Crazy Train", "Paranoid", and "Mr. Crowley". I protested playing those songs, but we ended up doing it anyway. You could barely hear the drummer, and the other guitar player messed up on a solo. Bleh.

Tulsa surprisingly has a huge music scene I would say. There is a lot of bands here and lately we have had many big bands come here to play and will be playing here soon. Such as Breaking Benjamin, Senses Fail, Disturbed, Ten Years, Smile Empty Soul, The Killers (UGH), The Bravery (x100 UGH), and many others I can't remember at the moment. I was gonna be in a couple bands, but all fell through.

As for music scenes, back home is a much larger scene in terms of rock and metal. At my uni, it's more alt/indie. The campus station here sucks because I can never tell the shows apart because they are always playing something from The Postal Service, The Shins, etc. It's practically the Garden State OST on the radio all the time, and the overall listening experience is too homogeneous. Of course, if people like that music, then so be it, but the radio station here lacks diversity.

I do, there are over 500 cds in my house at least 100 belonging to me and the others stuff that my dad owns, but I like the music he likes. I never have downloaded illegally either I don't know how. Anytime I have bought stuff off of iTunes it has never been a whole album either.

I don't have any batterys for my cd player.

I read in an interview it is touring that is their main revenue and I'm fairly confident that is right. The label a band is signed to makes the money for cd sales. After that some of it goes to the band, but not a lot.

Tool charge relatively little for their tickets, and put on quite expensive stage shows. They have a break-even type work ethic. Most bands will aim to profit from touring, and most big bands do.

I was suprised as well that it was the other way around. They asked stuff like "When was the Deutsche Mark introduced in Germany?" or "Which ten countries joined the EU in 2004?" and "Name all states of Germany and their capitals".

Those really cauhght me off guard. No current events at all. The questions about math and logic combination were piece of cake as well, but those... darn! :mad: I knew that all basically, but could not remember it!

You shouldn't leave because people are assholes is what I've been trying to pound into everyone. Some people will not listen, just ignore them. A lot of people are generally harmless.

You just needed to add more detail, especially if you're going to do a track-by-track. Talk about the guitars, the song structure (ABABCB, for example), the bass, the percussion, the vocals. Make a couple sentences out of it. Then add your own personal input. That way, you'll have thirteen (or however many) sizable paragraphs in your review. You need to go in depth and be analytical. Sure, it's hard work, but it will pay off in the end because you're helping others and doing writing of your own.

Don't let them get you down. My first review ended up just like yours - it wasn't the greatest review and people started flaming and arguing. It was terrible, and I felt really bad about it. Nut I kept going, and now I've been doing it for a while. Just keep trying and you'll definitely get better with time. :)

Well, nobody here wants you to leave. You're welcome to review and criticise as long as you make sure to accept peoples' criticism gracefully and use that to improve your reviews. I know the FF debacle was no fault of yours, but in your previous reviews you haven't helped cool things down. Everyone gets better by doing more reviews, and you have been improving steadily. Just stick at it.
