The UP has the potential of getting dumped on in freakin' July for Christ's sake, hahaha.
I went outside and tried to videotape the blizzard with my digital camera, but the snow is falling too fast for it to look clear on the camera, so I just scrapped that idea.

It doesn't snow much where I live, but when it does, it snows a lot, at least 2 feet when it's good, and doesn't leave because of the -30 (celsius) temperature. But it's funny when people from California complain complain about coldness, they don't know tr00 cold.

Hey guys. My next review is a bonafide mess. How the hell does this happen? I'm not halfway done and it's miles long already. I'm afraid I have bitten off more then I can chew, but I can't seem to find a way around it. I don't want to scrap it because I've worked a little hard on it, but I can't seem to find a way to prune it, either. If I could find another way of writing it, I would. But as it stands it's half track by track, half essay, half biography, and 100% train wreck. Has this ever happened to any of you guys? I was doing fine with an X review I was writing, and a Blasters one, as well. And I was planning on doing Springsteens Lucky Town next. But somehow I got stuck doing Tunnel Of Love. And man, it's a pile of over written poo. What to do? I need a lifeline guys....
Help! :(
As long as it's focused, don't worry about length. A few of my reviews took up 12+ pages on single spaced, size 8 font and I didn't have any problems from people other than "OMG TEH LENGTH IS SO BIG LOL."

**** them. Do what you think is right. If you are in love, be it. If not, hey, that's cool as well. as long as you care about what is important to you, it's fine. The moment you start to care about what the majority of other folks thinks, it's getting stupid.

Heh, length isn't really a problem for most of us. If you really want to cut it down, I'd suggest taking a look at superfluous info, like specific things to do with instruments in the track reviews. I find too many reviews talk about what happens where in the song, when it only detracts from the overall review.
Edit: It really depends on what the purpose of your review is. If you want to convince people to listen to it, a shorter, more general review is better. If you want people to read the review and relate it to their opinions on the album, then a longer, more detailed review can work very well.

 I just showed my dad your post, and he said it isn't true.
Well 35 of my reviews plus a couple of essays equals 1.3 MB, delete one of your 4 minute songs and you can fit well over 100 reviews on your computer. Plath's example may not be true, but you can sure as hell fit all your reviews in not even a couple of megabytes.
 I just showed my dad your post, and he said it isn't true.
Let's say for the sake of arguing that you have a song that's 3.0MB. There are 1,000 kilobytes in a megabyte. That means your song is 3,000KB.
My reviews are usually no larger than 20KB, and most are less than that.
3000 / 20 = 150KB.
That's a lot of extra space for reviews, and I'm using 20KB as an EXTREME example.
Great, now my dad says it's cheap enough I can buy it myself.
The acoustic song is 70% done, and I'll tell you when it's finished, Jom.
Well, let's use the balancing act model here:
Do you want to have your own personal storage space for your music and reviews that can hold a lot, or do you want things to be the same as they are now?
Which side is heavier than the other?

Yeah, it's good, hey?
I'm going to hopefully be owning an acoustic guitar this week for a cheap price (so long as the girl doesn't sell it to someone else).
Yep, it's good. :)
You don't already have an acoustic? Is guitar your main instrument?

No and no.
It won't matter, anyway, because she said she got a "great offer" (like mine wouldn't have been) and sold it without asking me what I'd pay for it.
What a dumb bitch. She could have made a ton of money, but no.

My review will be done tommorrow night! Sorry I haven't gotten to it but my weekend/begininng of the week was very busy, I was out or asleep most of the weekend, and I have had tests (multiple) this week. I will finish it tomorrow! Sorry again for the delay.

I hope I can finish my Simple Plan review soon, listening to the music doesn't bother me, but their incredibly unoriginal, cliched, cheesy and plain awful lyrics are just unbearable >_<
Liberi's avatar is insanely funny, that bald guy has such an insane look on his face XD

I finished all of my Russian Revolution readings today, did my laundry, cleaned my closet, and I just finished supper and am watching American Idol for some reason.
I won't mention reviews because I never write any in the first place.

I don't know, but I like to listen to their album every now and then as well. They are not that bad, just the lyrics are sometimes a bit... whiny. :)
I consider a new avatar. Help me to decide folks:
Possible new one:

Maybe as animated gif, animating the blood drop from the teeth
Or keeping my current one (or a random other QC avatar). Opinions?

I normally stray nowhere near core-related genres, but this EP by them is strangely enjoyable.
Go with the new one, animate the blood. That would be bad-rectum!

NP: The new Decapitated album
A girl who lives in my halls likes Decapitated.
She's fit as ****, too.
That's always a nice find, I guess. Every single girl at my university seems to cream her jeans over bands that are found on the Garden State soundtrack... Iron & Wine, Belle & Sebastian, The Shins, etc.

Yeah, them too. But I did like that "Let Go" song, 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown.
But if I see that M&M commercial that plays "From Such Great Heights," I'm going to go postal.

Imogen Heap (of Frou Frou) has one of my favourite female voices ever, though I've only heard a fraction of her songs. Belle & Sebastain and the Shins and all that crap I couldn't care less about.

Natalie Portman was in Garden State. *schwing*
It was an average movie, though. *schwing schwing*
I thought it was a good movie, I just didn't understand how everyone at my university when it came out was like, "OH MY GOD THAT MOVIE TOTALLY SPOKE TO ME OMG I WANT TO DRY HUMP ZACH BRAFF FOR MAKING SUCH A TERRIFIC MOVIE THAT REALLY TRULY SPOKE TO ME!"
I just thought it was a good movie. I felt for the first time in my life that I was in the minority.

On another note, my wireless internet has been down for the last few days but using my wiley computer skills I managed to fix it all up by...plugging the router in. Yes.

Hey guys, I'm not sure whether to post in Ask The Mods or in this Forum so sorry if this is spam...or something.
A couple days ago, my account got banned and now, my Sputnik Profile stuff has all been erased and it also says my Latest Coments is on that Pantera album, which I've never posted in. This is just minor thing but I just want to why this happened and if my Ban had anything to do about it...

What's the best way to get a handle of the review format? Just read a lot of the top notch reviews made already?
Mew sounds like a good idea :D

It's up to you. People try to encompass reviews in an overall format, while others try to describe the album track-by-track and then give their analysis at the end or at the beginning or both. It's whatever's easiest for you, really.
