All right, we get it. Enough.
Right, so Mozza, this dream I had. Remember how we joked about the Wings and the Sens being in the Cup Finals and how we'd meet up if that happened?
Well, that was basically the dream, in a sense. Below is an abridged version.
Setting: fast forward a couple months. I had tickets for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. It was my Red Wings versus your Sens, at the Joe. I snail-mailed you the game ticket and some money for transportation, but asked if you wanted me to drive to pick you up. You wrote me an e-mail saying that you'd come by train, which I thought was odd because the train went underneath the Detroit River in a tunnel. And who takes the train?
Anyways, I picked you up at the station in a ridiculously expensive car (I have no clue how I got it in the first place). You were decked out in Sens attire (obviously) and I in my Wings attire, and I kidded with you about how the Joe's security wouldn't let you in.
It was early in the day, so I drove you back to my city to show you around, and then we went to dinner at Hockeytown Cafe. Our waitress was a huge bitch, so we stiffed her with pennies for a tip. While we were eating, a local news station interviewed the two of us because I was in Red Wings attire and you were in Sens attire. Humor ensues.
We then left for the Joe and got there around 6. We walked around the mezzanine randomly together, people laughed at our odd pairing but there wasn't any out-of-taste comments about your beloved Sens (further proof that Detroit hockey fans aren't too calloused) and more people stopped and interviewed us because of the conflicting uniforms.
The dream then faded to black, but re-appeared in full color at the 10:00 mark of the third period. The score was tied at three goals apiece. The arena was crazy loud.
Our seats were about eight rows up from the ice. You were the only person in our immediate vicinity who wasn't sporting red and white.
The offense was crazy, but both goalies were on fire. Then, with a few minutes to go, Datsyuk poke-checks and beats the Sens goalie gloveside for a 4-3 victory. The Sens put up an onslaught of offense in the last minute-and-a-half, but the Wings cleared the puck with ten seconds to go and the Joe went crazy in confetti, music, etc.
When I looked over, you were pretty bummed, but you smile-shrugged it off because the atmosphere was basically a once-in-a-lifetime experience (until the dream happens again).
We stayed for the ceremony, got interviewed by yet another news station (this time, the sports radio station instead of a TV news station). Then, I drove you back home, because you were out of university for the year.
There were other details, but I don't want to get too boring.

The Final Run
The big haste is over
and the people rest with ease
preparing for this final night
the city sleeps in flames
with beautiful shapes of light drawn in the sky
announcing the passing of the old
and the arrival of the new, for all to embrace
So welcome the new year with a smile, that it smiles back
and presents you with new expiriences
and not reflections of the past, repeating yesterday...
A quick poem like thingy I wrote for my new years mail. Thought I'd share it. :)
Happy new year y'all! :D

What I was going to do is put up a new nomination thread (if people are so inclined they can just copy/paste their old votes, but there is a possibility their thoughts could change).
After the nominees are up, I'll post the voting thread, which will be done via secret ballot; that is, people interested in voting will e-mail/IM/snail mail their votes to me. That way, it'll be more of a surprise (unless people openly talk about their votes in this thread, which would be disappointing).
In the very least, hopefully this will be fun.
I shall merge the threads and it will be beautiful.

:amaze: Wow, I've never had a dream that was so articulate.
That's not even the most articulate MX dream I've ever had (I left out a lot of details).
The best-ever MX dream I had was this (I originally posted this in one of the first community threads in R&M, so the details might be sketchy):
I was sitting with a group of MXers inside this gigantic mansion. We (there were thirteen of us) were all sitting in a circle, sitting around a bonfire on the floor (yeah, don't ask) while listening to Amit play acoustic guitar for us.
It was really peaceful and we were making small talk and telling jokes and the like, when all of a sudden zombies burst through the door wanting to eat us.
We all got up and ran around the house like crazy people. As soon as we ran outside as a huge group, we all felt our right sides get heavy. Miraculously, we were given pistols with two extra clips of ammo.
The zombies were pouring out of the house, so we started shooting their heads off. But the zombies just seemed to spawn out of this mansion, and some were on fire from the bonfire, presumably.
Somehow, our pistols changed to sapphire pistols, which means unlimited ammo in my dreams. The bullets are made of emerald, though (again, don't ask).
For the next few minutes, the MXers were given the ability to fly (but the zombies could fly too), so there was an aerial battle. But everyone fell from the sky after a few minutes, so we continued to fight on the ground.
So, we were getting tired of shooting zombies' heads off, so we turned around and started running again towards the lake by the mansion. At the dock, there were thirty or so Jetskis. So, the thirteen of us got on a Jetski each and started driving away.
But the zombies got on Jetskis and started following us, too, even the ones engulfed in flames. It was freaky stuff. So, we turned around and started blasting zombies off Jetskis or riding so that they'd crash into each other.
There was a ramp randomly in the middle of the lake, and Jelle (Superpeer) hit it and did a barrel roll in the air (a la Wave Race on Nintendo 64). All of a sudden, time slowed down, and as Jelle was doing his barrel roll, he shot three zombies' heads off in rapid fire. As soon as he hit the water, time ran normally.
So there's this huge Jetski gunfight, MXers versus zombies. Jason (BoboTheRagingHobo) had a samurai sword for no reason at all (I can never explain this random crap in my dreams) and started decapitating zombies while singing "The Final Countdown" by Europe and swearing after each line.
We turned around and started going towards the ocean. But the zombies (regular and in flames) were gaining on us. We thought we were doomed.
All of a sudden, there was this huge pirate ship.
On it, DBJ was there dressed as a pirate with a scarlet macaw on his shoulder and an eyepatch.
"Ahoy there, MXers!" he shouted. He then started to shoot the zombies with the cannon. The water would explode on impact and cause a huge fountain explosion, and the zombies would fly and then explode when they got too high, and after he killed all of the zombies, he shot one at us so that we all flew up in the air and landed on his ship.
"Pretty scary, or what?" DBJ asked. All of a sudden, he ripped off his face and he was the ultimate leader zombie!
Everyone was like, "Oh, ****, we're ****ed!"
But then DBJ ripped off the zombie mask and was normal DBJ.
We then partied on the ship doing awesome things you only wish you could do (unless you were one of the thirteen).

I had a horrible new years eve last night. :(
Alright, so it's my dad, mom, and brother, and the plan for the night is to take turns choosing four or so songs to watch on different music dvds. I go first, and choose Coheed and Cambria-Starland, things go fine. Then my brother chose Papa Roach-Live and Murderous, to be frank, it sucks. Then I use the bathroom in between, and when I come back I realize I lost the dvd remote (I'm the only one in my family who knows how to use it). Soon I'm getting yelled at by my parents, and my mom starts going in about how I'm not responsible enough, and I'll never get my drivers permit. Soon I find it though. Then, it's my dad's turn, and he chooses to watch Govn't Mule-The Deepest End. Soon he keeps saying his turn will be over after each song, but an hour goes by. My mom starts yelling at him talking about how he's just like his brother, and father. Then my dad goes to his bedroom, and says he's going to bed, it's 10:30. So then my mom starts acting like it's all funny and starts talking to us like we are on her side. Then my dad comes out and says he's back. arguement oversomething else between my parents occurs, and dad leaves again talking about how his right arm hurts and if it was in his left he would think he'd be having a heart attack. This happens two whole times over again. My brother, and I go to his room to play Xbox, but less than a minute later they get louder, and my dad goes to his room for the night. Apparently he said something really bad to her, and she says she'll never forgive him. She won't even tell us what he said, it must be bad, because he's was call her a b/tch before and using **** you freely.
:( :( :(

It depends. I always recommend having some form of an introduction. You don't have to go into the band's complete history, however, since that's what the artist page is for. However, a review that's just starts with the review itself isn't encouraged, because the introduction sets up the review itself. Think of your introduction of your review as a thesis statement in an essay.

Thanks. I was also wondering if a certain length is required?
Not really; a couple of paragraphs is usually fine.
Thanks. I was also wondering if a certain length is required?
A length for an introduction? A paragraph or two, maybe. You don't need to write an essay before the review.
Or a length for the review? It definitely depends on your reviewing style. Some reviewers like having an intro + track-by-track format, while others prefer intro + overall review, and others choose to have an intro with bulleted lists of the good, bad, and overall perspective of an album.
I guess you don't want to be so short that you're overly concise and lacking detail, but you also don't want to boring by going on and on forever. I'm admittedly someone who has the potential for doing this, but that's just what I'm comfortable with. So long as you review in a manner that's comfortable for you, and not writing so that you're unsure of what you're putting in, that's A-OK with everyone here.
Don't feel the need to emulate other reviewers completely all the way through. The nice thing about Sputnikmusic is that a lot of the best reviewers, when compared, are heterogeneous in reviewing styles. The site would definitely be less fun to visit if every single review looked and read the same.
Feel free to ask any other questions, or if you want me to clarify anything.

I don't think it's to do with the site; I think that's just due to too many connections at one moment. It's a temporary fault; if it happens again refresh and it should work.

i can't, $£*?@#& school filter
plus, i ain't in skool jst now anyway, and if i did go on in school, i would onlly have aussies and new zealanders for company, i think
There are a number of sites you can go to to bypass the school filter.
In high school, my school had this thing called Bess. It was some stupid dog thing. Every time I went to an encyclopedia or government site, it would block me for "pornography" or "brutality." Needless to say, the filter sucked, so we all got around it.

I'm loving Stratosfear so far, its like Phaedra (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=4621) but with guitars. Mmmmmmmm.
Still switching between accounts I see, Gilmour. :p

Their movie soundtracks are awesome. >:|
But it'd probably be better to buy one of their normal albums like Phaedra, Stratosfear or Canyon Dreams.
Haha man the intro to Heat by 50 Cent cracks me up. Toke it up Fiddy.

I will get a Tangerine Dream album.... eventually. I gotta get some other things before I make another CD order. I need a laptop, Ibanez tubescreamer, a delay pedal, maybe a synth. Yay for tax returns soon.

Oh my god, DFelon, knowing you have iTunes you need to check out the iTunes Essential list "Emo". Don't kill yourself when you see bands like Senses Fail, and Alkaline Trio on the Deep Cuts part.

Rolling Stone once defined Emo as sad music with Punk guitars. I don't know what Emo is exactly, but it sure as hell isn't that.

Ugh. The only reason to have iTunes is the fact that it's designed for Macs and because everyone at my school has it, meaning there is a massive network.

It means "laugh my *** off". There are variations, such as lmfao, or even rofl, which means "rolling on the floor laughing". "lol" means "laugh out loud", in case you didn't know that either.
What do you people mean by "networks" on iTunes? I have iTunes and I know of no networks.
Just an FYI: I'm going to put up the categories thread tonight, along with the secret ballot instructions.

Talk about your weird dreams. Here it goes.
It's about midnight, and I walk into my kitched to find my mom baking pancakes. She tells me to help, so I do, until they catch on fire, and we put them in the sink, and douse the flame out with water. Then my mom is talking, and I see she's on fire. I scream "you're on fire", but she just says "no I'm not". Then she looks down, and see's she's on fire. She herself screams while for some reason I attempt to put out the fire on her with napkins, it works. Then my brother comes out, and says that people are in our backyard. (FYI-Behind our backyard is a football field, and a school, the one my brother goes to now-8th grade only) I look out, and see that there is a riot happening. Then, in a war of the worlds kind of way, people start fighting, and blowing each other up with the ray gun those aliens used in that movie. Then they start talking about how they need us to take care of their kids for them, because they can't. We say no, then they leave. I get on the computer (?), and get on the community site, only to find out Damrod died a few days ago. Then in a video game fashion, I am transported, with two people I don't know, and fight people in gansta, 1920's looking black suits with top hats, ninja fighting ensues. We make our escape by climbing out along a 100 ft. tall chandiler. Then we wind up on a beach, and start swimming in the ocean for fun. Turns out there are nails all over the bottom of the shallow surface, along with cars in the water too. We manage to get out of the water, and rest on the beach which is when the dream ends.
I can't remember all of it, but that is the basics of what happened.

I had a bizzare dream last night, too. I was in the middle of the countryside, and there was an elevated rock platform. It was like a pillar that I climb on top of. I climbed up there, and as soon as I got to the top (about 7 feet from the ground) a small, bald imp jumps up at me from the ground. It was a like a red, bloody garden gnome. Its teeth were gnashing and it was trying to climb up the rock. I was naturally afraid, so I picked up a wooden club that had conveniently appeared by my side. The creature kept jumping at me, so I clubbed it in the head. Except now, he wasn't jumping up and down in the same position. He would jump up at one point, and then 5 seconds later he would appear behind me or to the side. It was like whack-a-mole with my club and him jumping up in random places. I took every chance I got to whack him in the head. Even though he was frightening, I felt sorry for him. His bald head got bloodier and eventually he stopped jumping at me.
It wasn't a nightmare, but it was quite disturbing.
