ive searched through the forum and found nothing to help me.
basicaly ive seen ESP LTD's quite cheap around. i own both an american and a japanese jackson and i can hear the differnce between the quality in them.
are the real ESP's quite considerably differnt than the LTD versions?
and what are the quality of the LTD's when you first get them new do they look nice and does the metal work look tidy? (my jap jackson had little flash lines on some of the metal parts)
thanks for any help in advance

High end Ltd's (1000 series mainly) are really good guitars. The 400 series up are pretty decent.
Actual ESP's will feel better than ltd's, and generally have better build quality, but it's up to you to decide whether this is worth the price difference between the two.
I can't comment on the metalwork, i haven't really ever paid that much attention when looking at them heh.

LTD's are fine guitars I think. I have found that any of the models containing numbers higher than 200 is decent. For example, an ESP LTD EC-50 is a bottom of the line, not-so-great playing cheaper guitar, while the ESP LTD EC-1000 happens to be a very sexy guitar that sounds and plays wonderfully. Same can be said with the LTD MH series. I own an MH-201, and it is a freaking fantastic guitar, looks very beautiful and plays very well. Just stick to mainly the higher end LTD models (roughly $450.00 and up) and you will be fine, they're very good guitars.

The only difference between ESP and LTD is the fact that ESP's are hand-built whereas LTD are factory-built. You will find that a lot of ESP's and LTD's have exactly the same specs as each other, but a big gap in price. All you're paying for is the ESP name and quality, to be fair, so sticking to LTD will save you some cash and still guarantee a quality guitar. I have a very low-end LTD (100 series) and I love it to bits, so it doesn't really matter that much.

£229 is too much for a 50 series IMO
