Okay, so I found one of these in my basement.

So how exactly do I record with it? I know I need a cable, but all I have for it is a microphone cable and a PA system...

While the 58 is better for vocals beacuse of the built in popscreen, and the 57 is better for micing amps, either could really be used either way; Though youd need a popscreen if your using the 57 on vocals

Plug the mic into your computer and position it near your amp. Record on your pc as if you were recording with the mic and play guitar! If that makes sense to you. Sorry if it didn't!

The 58 and 57 are voiced slighty differently, but you'l still get a useable recording sound from the 58. Nice find.

What you need now, for the best sounds:

XLR > XLR Mic cable
Mic Preamp
XLR > Jack Cable
Mic Stand

Should be able to get all of those for under $100, and you'll get a great recording sound.
